I drove the car to a local show today because it looks like the only one I might get to do this year with dad. It was only about 3/4 of a mile from home. Had about 40 cars there, one c2 split window. Most of the cars were from the 50's and back. The weather held off just long enough for me to get home since I have no top! Then the rain came. I didnt get the car to the place I wanted before taking it out in public. I still need the door panels, and console plate completed. But the car showed real well. I didnt enter it in the show since it was at my best friends business, (bowling alley) that way he wouldnt feel he had to pick mine. But their were some 32 coupes that were much nicer then mine anyway! Some of those guys have unbelievable rides!
Anyway I gave the old vette its first bath and of we went. I can tell it needs an alignment, I need to get the sway bar painted and back on the front, all shocks are getting replaced, and the rear and trailing arms need done. Still a long ways from being done but it was cool to get the seats and trim on and go for a short drive. Stopped for gas and the lady on the other side of the pump came over and said she has a soft spot for really nice cars. another guy in front of me had to come back and comment on how "sharp" it looks. The bad thing is that my 74 is really sharp to but no one seems to care! lol Its amazing what chrome bumpers do, just not fair to those of us that have nice rubber bumper cars as well.
Here are the 2 picks that I took before leaving today.

That color is so sharp, you have done a super job with it. Glad you got to take your dad for a burn in it!
I still need to drol on it!

Thanks Guys,
Ebo I didnt take dad for a spin. He took 2 of his cars to the show. Friday and Saturday he had 3 of his cars in the show at Musclecar Madness here in York. Thats a tribute to the York US 30 Drag Strip that used to run every week here locally. They used to have both the spring and Summer Nationals here when I was a kid. I got to meet Garlits, Grumpy Jenkins, Larson and many more back in those days. I can remember getting blown away by the Sox & Martin Cuda! Ah the good ole days!

Vette(s): 1974 coupe. 350 CID with Turbo 400 trans. Decal says 8.5:1 compression. Needs paint and AC replaced but don't plan on full restoration. Car runs strong. No big problems so far. 67,000 miles on Odometer, probably rolled over
That is truly a great looking Corvette.
The Chrome bumpers along with it being a convertible are huge. But the whole car looks tremendous.
I was wondering why no one has come up with a Chrome Bumper custom Kit for 74's and up. I can't imagine it would be that difficult.

It has been over a year since I started. I had to quit the project so
the car just sat in the garage. I was able to get started again in May 2012. As of July 27 2012 I have done the fiberglass repairs and applied Slick Sand High Build Primer.
