Vette(s): I own a 1974 L48 white/red automatic, a 1976 daily driver L82 4 speed and a 1979 L48 automatic.
Well I finnally got back to work on my 74 vette and removed the body from the frame. I never seen so much rust in my life. This frame was really shot, the only thing holding it together was the body.
After removing everthing from the frame I was able to bend the back half over until it touch together and then broke.
I upload some pictures onto my web site if anybody is interested.

I have the frame that was purchased from Texas and it's just like new. I also have to change the rocker channels as they are not in very good shape either.
The only reason I didn't part this car out is that it only has 60,000 miles on it and I'm the third owner.
I had posted a question a while back about the problem with the rocker channels and a lot of people said to keep it and fix it up, so I'm taking the challenge.
I'll keep my web site up to date as much as possible so you guys can follow a long.

hi,
am in a similar position with my '74, the "piggyback2 sills, 2 drivers side posts and #4 body mounts are shot, and the nose has separated on the passenger side upper firewall rivets. The frame, however, is good and nearly ready for blasting an painting.
good luck

And other people think Vette owners are crazy,we just go out and buy these cars in pristine condition, and polish them, and drive them once in a while.a lot of friends asked me this summer, wheres the Vette did you sell it? Geez I had it out 2 times the whole summer ! Most of the time it was up on jack stands all 4 wheels off, replacing all the brake lines, hoses, pads, bushings, pressure washing, sanding, painting, brake system bleeding, reinstalling everything, taking it out for a ride, putting a coat of wax on it ,and putting it to bed for the winter.now I am checking THE LIST to see what did'nt get done to it this year, and adding stuff to the list for starting the work next spring.WHO SAID OWNING A VETTE IS'NT THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD,and do'nt forget all the nice people I have met over the phone and the computer, from the vette parts places, that I've helped keep in buisness for the last 3 years that I've owned my BABY.I am on a first name basis with at least 4 parts houses, not to mention my mail man and my UPS man.they even ask how the work is going, and come in the garage to check out the progress every once in a while. LIFE IS GOOD, VETTES RULE,SAVE THE WAVE
