Vette(s): 74 coupe 4 speed 350, 54K actual miles, all original; paint, interior, engine, split bumper. #'s match. 2nd owner, no stress cracks.
The main reason I got my 74, was the last year with true dual exhaust and no catalytic convertor.  So when I saw my 74 advertised in the newspaper, I knew this must be it.   $7200, but that was a few years ago.   Also had to be a 4 speed.  Plus love the "no bumper" look.   Also like the white on black.  And original paint, so I didn't have to worry about any wrecks.....

My decision to buy a 74 was also because of a true dual exhaust without emission restrictions. I like the clean look of the rally wheels and chrome trim rings. My 74 is White and very clean and plain looking. It is all original. I found that the chase to buy it was very entertaining as dealing with those selling can be a wild experience. What is good condition to one person I found could be very disappointing to myself. I found that everyone selling has one in excellant shape. I had the person that I purchased mine from take well over 60 photos from different angles to help me make sure I was getting what I was being told was nice. I didn't want to make a 9 hour trip from Pa to Ohio to come back with an empty trailer because of disappointment in the real car. Now I have my first Corvette, and White, automatic, 350 195 HP with only 25,000 miles that I am very proud of. My plans are to just enjoy the car in its original condition.

My '74(and the 85, for that matter) basically dropped in my lap. I wasn't looking for a car at all. A friend of mine has a car lot, and he had bought the '74 at auction, as a bank repo. It sat at the shop for months, before I axed him what the f he was gonna do with it, and WHEN? It was an eyesore. He convinced me to werk on it for him, and I did at least get it runnin. Being a car lot guy...he didn't wanna spend no $$$, and there was no way to fix it otherwise. My advice at that time was to just run it back thru the auction, and get rid of it. He axed me if I was interested in it, and I said sure, if the price is right. Next day, I gave him $3000 cash for the turd. The rest is history.

Almost a year to the day later, he came drivin up in an '85(also a bank repo)...he said he bought it for me to buy...I guess he was rite, cause I bought it, too! By that time, I was all up into Corvettes again, and had the fever sumpthin bad...still do.

Vette(s): 1975 Stingray Nomad Wagon, with Daytona front, custom hood scoop, dual side vents; 420HP 350; Doug Nash 5 speed; 1980 rear end W/4:11 gears; Cherry Red metallic paint.
For me, it was just a matter of fulfilling my dreams.  Since i was a preteen, i wanted a wild full custom Vette.  Once i got that, i realized one problem, i couldnt park it, say for dinner?  I love it, but it just wasnt pratical.
My second choice was any Tunnel Back (68-77)  I just bought the first one that i could afford and liked.  Now, i wont part with either of them.
