A lady I work with call me and asked if I was the Mike that owned a Corvette.I told her yes that would be me.She told me she has one for sale and would I be interested.Come to find out it a 78 Sliver anny with the two tone silver/gray paint.I also see that it is an L82 4 speed car.Her and her husband are the original owners.I could not find any rust under the car at all.I did see that the front end has just been rebuilt and a new exhaust put on.car has 57,000 miles(not turned over)oyster leather int.new tires.Paint is a little oxidized but still very presentable.Runs real strong, very well maintained car.I'm pretty sure she will accept my offer of $7,500.She will let me know monday.Does this soud like a good deal?I don't know much about 78's.I do know about the L82.Any 78 owners or anybody else tell me any more stiff I should look for.Everything works A/C,even the clock works. These are older people and every time something didn't sound right it went into the shop.Bubba has not got ahold of it and like I said they are the only owners of the car. It's all stock.Tell what you think.

Sounds like a great deal to me. Just my 2 cents though.

Man that is a fantastic deal! You should jump on that if you got the money and the space for it. I would love to buy that car myself if I had the money and space. Great deal.Tumarr 38402.8339583333

Buy It
Well,I've got the money, space is a little bit of concern.I've got my 82CE and a 71Z/28 and along with my wifes Grand Cherokee.I only have a carport but this is the car that was on my list when I went looking for a C3.To do this car justice it should have a paint job.Any thing else I could do with a can or two of vinal dye.The seats are good to go,same with the door panels.I've always liked to SA's a lot and I've always liked the front end(grill area)better than all the other non chrome bumper ones. The best part is my wife seems ok with it.They bought the car new in Texas and then moved here to south GA so it's never been in the rust belt.Tell me one thing. The steel frame thing that runs under the doors,is that part of the cars frame or is that the rocker panel?Anyway it's a solid as new.A little bit of paint and it's good to go. zgator 38402.9173842593

I agree with everyone else...it sounds like an excellent deal. I paid a bit more for my '78 Silver Anniversary L82 and it has an automatic, not a four speed. You may even luck out and some buffing of the paint will take care of the oxidation.
Not everyone is lucky enough to find any Corvette of that vintage from the original owner so you know its history. Having your wife OK with it is a big thing in your favor as well.
Best of luck and enjoy it!

I am with the other guys on this one,I paid 7800 for my 78,L-48 auto.the only reason I got it so cheap is the owner had to sell it to buy a mini van, because the new baby was almost there, and he needed something bigger to put a car seat in .He had been offered 10k a year earlier and refused it ,and then the stork came a knocking and he had to sell it. Sounds like a great deal for a Silver Anniversary. The silver paint used by GM during those years oxidized quickly. . I've had mine repainted a few years ago. Good luck.
