Sounds like a heck of a deal IMO. If it were close to me I would have
to have a look at this one myself. Good luck with the deal and let us
know how the deal goes.

Here's what the NADA website (http://www.nadaguides.com) shows (hope I picked the right options):
Original MSRP: $9,976 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Well? What happened? Did you get it? I hope so. That sounded
like a great deal.
like a great deal.

Well,I forgot that I was off mon.I talked to her today.She told me that it has a close ratio trans and a 373 rear gear.Told me it took 6mos after she ordered it until she got it.She wanted more of a highway gear but GM wouldn't put one in because of the close ratio trans.The clutch is less than a year old.I did notice that it didn't have a tach.She has it at home.It was sent off for rebuild.Also has the orginal 8 track radio that was taken out and a new unit installed.Within the next couple of days she is going to bring it back to work so I can get a etter teat drive and also put it on the rack and go over it real good.I'm going to look around the web and check into the trans and rear gear info as she isn't quite sure about the specs.
Well if you dont like the gearing, you can pull the trans out and put in a 5 or 6 speed in with overdrive. Ben (cthulhu) just did a bunch of homework on this swap. Of course, save your old transmission so you can return it to factory specs. Any ways good luck, sounds like a winner!
Oh no.I love the gearing,just not sure a close ratio was offered in 78 and the same with the 373's.If it does have these options it ought to be a hoot to drive.I have the 82CE with overdrive and a highway gear.2.87,so this would be fun to play around in.
Somebody else wanted the car more than me and paid the people what they were asking for.$8,700.I gave it some serious thought and examined the car real good about 4 or five times.I never did find any major issues but I decided that I didn't want to pay that much for the car.I offered $7,500.He said he would get back to me as he had someone else interested.I figured right then that the only way he would sell it to me is if the other guy didn't want the car at any price.The guy that bought it has never owned a vette before and he jumped at it.I mean hey a 4 speed sliver anny as your first vette,I can't blame him,it is a nice car.I hope he enjoys it and I have no ill feelings or regrets.I wasn't looking for another vette anyway but if the price was right it would be at my house right now.
