I was told in 79 there was only 2 blue cars with blue interior. Where could I find this out? This is a big factor in how I redo this Vette

In '79 they made 5,670 Dark Blue & 3,203 Light Blue. Then they did both Cloth and Leather interiors. Not sure about the individual break downs. 1981 was when the "new" Bowling Green factory has records from. The earlier St. Louis records are missing.

Only 34 years together

Frost Blue, and Dark Blue Metallic exteriors were both available with Dark Blue interiors, in both cloth and leather. In fact, the blue interior was the recommended interior for Frost blue, with only black, and Oyster(white) as the only other colors available.
The chances of there only being TWO exterior blue cars with blue interiors is not very likely, and not a statistic I have ever heard. NOW...there MIGHT be something to that rumor IF it were only 2 blue cloth, or 2 blue leather interiors, but still have never heard nor read of any statistics concerning it. GM wasn't in the bidness of keeping track of stuff like that, so record keeping wasn't high priority. Once the system went to computer based ordering, it was a lot easier to keep track of this or that.
For now, I'd have to say it's a possiblility, but not likely that there were only 2 blue cars with blue interior cars built in '79.
AND...if it IS true, then that would mean that you, and Bluebarry(Jaws79) have the ONLY two blue/blue '79s built....

My 79 is dark blue with dark blue leather. I am guessing they are a lot more than 2.

The "Corvette Black Book" by Mike Antonick says that there were 3,203 light blue cars and 5,670 Dark Blue exteriors.
Interior codes were :29C for dark blue interior and 4.768 dark blue leather interiors Exterior code "28" was for light blue with Black, Dark Blue or Oyster interior.

Well.....there goes the "only two blue/blue '79 cars" theory/rumor. Perhaps they meant that a particular DEALER only sold two blue/blues.....who knows....
