Few things... I own an 81 and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Now, finding an 80 with a 4 speed it a 1 in 12. Finding a yellow 4 speed, thats hens teeth. I work for a vintage car dealer in my spare time. Bottom line, see the car. HAVE AN INSPECTION. Trust me EVERY car needs work you have to budget for it. I'd rather spend more money on a better car. Paint is EXPENSIVE, interior parts add up. Everything adds up real quick on these things.. Personally, a yellow 4 speed is a rare bird but I think after paint, maint and repairs you'll be over 20k before you know what happened
I am not looking for an 1980, I am looking for a C3. I don't care if it is a 1968 or a 1982. I love all C3s and I will be happy to just get one right now. I know I might have to give up on the yellow, but I am going to look a little longer and cross my fingers.

Beautiful car, too far away. I am in Milwaukee. I have a full time job and 2 kids, my 6 year old son and my husband. I don't have the spare time to go that far away to look at a car.
I have cried over that one and a couple more that I have found. I will wind up buying anothe color and keep my eyes out for a yellow one. I am just happy my husband is letting me get one. He told me as long as it keeps me happy for a few years. I plan on having one until it dies or I do. :)
Ok I just found this one. It looks good to me and is not far away but was posted in April so it probably gone. I have an email out to the guy. It is a '74 Yellow Stingray.
That one looks like a good candidate.
Check it out and let us know.
P.S. There is a recent post by deuceap610 titled
"Came across a '69 Roadster I like..."
The members provided a lot of good info about what to look
for on the frame, suspension, etc...
I am going to go to the Bloomington Gold in IL next Sat. (http://www.bloomingtongold.com/index.php) Going with my husband, who is useless when it comes to car and my little monster, he will love to look at all the pretty cars.
Any advice before I go? I am looking at C3's. I don't care what year as long as it is a C3... manual.

I just had to rebuild my 1980 L48 engine.

Driving along and a vibration at 2000 RPM - removed the engine and found the cam and lifters gone. I understand this is a common problem with older cars in general. Oil doesn't have the additives that it once did and the older cars really need the additives for anti wear.
While it cost about $7,000.00 for the rebuild - engine, rad, hoses, etc... it now has a lot more power and is now fun to drive.
The car only had 50,000 KM - 30,000 MI so I thought it should be good for many years but boy was I wrong. These cars are more expensive here in Canada so a $20,000.00 car now cost me close to $30,000.00 with all the extras put in it. I am a little sick over it as I know it will not fetch what I have into it.
Buyer Beware
I just purchased a 1980 with 93k on it but it was from a friend. It had the motor redone to a 383 stroker new exhaust, new tires. Body needs paint and one crack between head light and fender. He was asking 6500. for it.
I purchased for 5500.
He had just put 3700 in it for the above work. He was so happy I was purchasing it to restore as he was fighting a loosing battle with cancer. He just passed about a week ago. This car is red and he will ride shotgun with that car forever.
I did some searching and found www.valleycorvette.com and they show a couple of C3's both 4 speeds a 73 and a 74 both orange. Also a white and red C3. Check them out they are in WI.Aaron1976 2008-06-20 11:45:42
