This past labor day was the 3 year mark for restoring my 77, the most work of the last 6 cars I have done. I have only to fix a door glass and my headlights to be finished. I have driven the car a total of 10 miles in the last month and all is good.I want to thank ALL the guys on this site for endless pcs. of info to help me along with this car.FWIW, everything thing was cleaned, replaced, painted, etc. except the frame and wire harness. the original motor was re-done with a cam, vortec heads,etc.,etc. and with the flow master mufflers it really does sound stout.I also got an ATI converter and had a shift kit installed in the trans.New interior and BC/CC paint make the car look pretty nice. Thanks again for all the help here at C3VR.    Mike B

Rodney, I got the converter from TurboAction in Jax., Fl. Earlier this AM I wrote TCI,but brain wasn't fully engaged at 6 this AM., sorry. Part # 23804. Great converter, along with the shift kit, trans changes gears like a rocket and VERY SMOOTH! Motor idles at 750 with fresh q-jet rebuild and new MSD dist. The hydraulic cam is a comp cam 12-210-2. lift is 454,duration is 218 on both intake and exhaust. You won't find John Force using this cam but it is perfect for my 355 C.I. Very lopy sound at idle and even though I haven't hit it hard yet,I can sence there is power in the cam, heads and trans combo.Anyone out there wanna guess at HP ? No accesories, only water pump and alternator holding back HP. headers, true dual exh., alum. intake, 2 bolt main motor, and the cam and heads.

Congrats on getting your baby finished, Mike.   Clap   That is the same Comp cam I have in my vette, and I do like it a lot.  You're right, it does sound great and gives good power response.
