Vette(s): 1978 Pace Car - L82 with a 4 Speed AM -FM CB radio

Now that I have my 78 Pace Car for a full 10 days and got a break from shoveling snow, I was able to start turning some wrenches.  I’ve completed a tune up (what a pain in the Censored getting to the spark plugs).  Looks like I need new front shocks, inner and outer tie rods, P/S slave cylinder bushings and rear spring bushings.  I also need to bleed the brakes, drain the radiator and fix a short in the high beam headlights Confused. I’ll be posting to the GODS for help with that issue shortly.

Next register her, attach the plates and start my long journey on cosmetics repairs.  My only problem;  my wife wants to drive her doh

Nice looking Vette, L82 4spd pace car - sweet. It's hard to resist doing the cosmetic stuff until it's safe to drive - but that's my suggestion. Make her safe and ready for the road first. Although I suppose brushing off the seat for the wife would be ok.

Keep us posted and good luck.

Nice looking cars!! One day, maybe one day, mine will good as nice as yours!!  I think I'll keep the seats dirty, maybe this will persuaded her not to drive it!! In all seriousness she’s very supportive and loves Vettes.  I just need to teach her to go light on the pedal!

BTW.  Here's a link from Craigs List in NJ with a radio:

Let me know if I can be of help.

BobO,
Glad to see you got it home! Nice looking PC, and an L-82 4 speed at that!!
Sounds like you've made a "to do" list already. I think all of us here can agree that that list will always have things on it. Part of the fun, though. I'm starting to get wound up with a few springtime fixes/upgrades on mine too.
Enjoy it!
Thumbs Up
Kevin
