Vette(s): 74 coupe 4 speed 350, 54K actual miles, all original; paint, interior, engine, split bumper. #'s match. 2nd owner, no stress cracks.
I just received my March 07 issue of Vette Magazine and it has a picture of a right hand drive C1 from Australia.  Not modified, but imported from the USA..

It just got me to thinking, does anybody know of any
right hand drive C3's?   Or the history of any other RH vettes?

ThanksSmile

The Corvette Summer car was crudely modified to be RH drive.

Yeah - Don't know why.  Maybe just to make it more exotic.  The steering wheel is mated to the steering box with a bicycle chain.

Vettes have NEVER been factory built as Right Hand Drive.  Any RHD vehicles you see will have been converted.  There are many methods used today which aren't as crude as the bicycle chain drive used on the Corvette Summer vehicle.  The big advantage with early US vehicles is that the dash layouts were always symetrical, so it isn't a big problem to switch sides for the instruments.  All the A/C and heater gear is a different story.  Reputable companies in countries like Australia do a perfect job where you would think the car was manufactured as a RHD.

Mine, I've left as LHD so it drives as it was originally built to.

Is there a difference in the way that a car handles left to right hand drive? I have often thought of contacting one of those companies that do the conversions in OZ and picking up a kit type set up for my Red Vette, just the finishing touch to me.

Thanks for the info.  If you want to see the vette I am talking about go to www.ldikustoms.com .   Click on the 62 vette.  You have to look real close to see the bicycle chainLOL.... steves742007-01-15 18:33:52

I've got some pix of the Corvette Summer car up close from Eureka Springs last fall if I can figure out how the heck to load them.
