I agree with 'optics&flares'. I've never understood the ridiculous values put on the '67. I guess its because its the best the C2's ever got. Mechanically its practically the same car as the '69.

In 1970, a short year of production of just nine months, there were only approxmately 4500 454s produced. Since the ratio of total production of 1970 convertibles to coupes was one in three then that would equate to about 1500 454 convertibles being produced. This is just a rough estimate.
While the '69 production year was high in numbers of Corvettes produced the prices for those '68 and '69 427/390s and 435s seem higher than the 1970 454/390. Of the C-3s the '69 remains a very popular year for Corvette enthusiasts. As time goes by the 1970 and 1971 454s will share the popularity and fetching prices of the '68 and '69 models.
I love the C-3 Corvettes and particularly the chrome bumpered versions as they are, to me, what a Corvette should look like.

You can and probably will be told just about anything when purchasing a vette. The best is documentation- such as a tank sticker(which can also be found between speed & tach inside dash).
Some things to look for-
Rear sway bar
7 leaf spring vs 9 leaf
From my understanding in 71- the driveshaft was larger on mouse & rat motors where it was different sizes in 70.
The radiator core support is 27.5" not the 26" for the small block
And of course the console.
Unfortunetly all the things are not that hard to "swap" out to make a small block car look big.

Are you asking about the car originally or as it is now? The easiest way to tell the difference between a small block and big block is the amount of working space under the hood. With a small block you can see some ground when looking down through the engine compartment. With a big block all you see is metal, hoses, and wires.
As far as what the car was originally, that will take some more detective work.

Vette(s): 1971 LS6 M22 3:70 coupe, 1971 LS5 M20 3:08 coupe, 1970 LS5 M21 3:36 coupe, 1970 LS5 M21 3:70 coupe, 1970 LS5 M20 3:08 coupe.
fun71: I have had the LS6 coupe for about 3 years now. It is white with red interior. NCRS has a registry going on these cars, they have approximately 69 cars registered (about 1/3rd production) there are 4 white exterior cars, I'm the only red interior, others are tan or black. My documentation consists of original Corvette Order Copy (tank sticker), original window sticker, original dealer sales invoice & original protecto plate attached to warranty pamphlet. The car is a low mileage original, still have 32 year old Goodyear Fx70x15 white letter tires on it! I've been offered $65,000 and have seen 2 in Hemmings listed at $95,000 and $82,500. Drivetrain is LS6, M22, 3:70 ratio
