Vette(s): '78 Silver Anniversary T Top coupe,58k orig miles.
THM350 auto, 350 L48, JBM headers,Oyster White interior,.as of Nov '15 in process of painting.
IF it is a screw, or other fastener for the 78 Corvette, chances are you have at least ONE that you are trying to duplicate for replacements..
If so, take it to a GOOD hardware store and determine the fastener type, finish, head,thread etc..
Most good hardware stores can easily determine such things..Surprisingly, on my 78 Corvette, there ARE some factory metric sheet metal screws( 10mm holding washer bottle in place)
Then you can call around locally or go online and search for a particular screw/bolt/fastener etc and talk intelligently and so locate sources other than the aftermarket Corvette part sellers..
I recently cleaned up and repainted and needed to replace some missing screws on the rocker panels of my 78 Corvette.
The screw was steel, black oxide, oval head phillips 3/4" length and 10/24 machine thread..Length measured for overall length NOT thread length on the ones I replaced...Jim
