Pulled from the swamps of Miami!
Its a driver and back on the road!
OK I can order the packs of screws from the corvette magazines and have done this in the past or get them at the Carlisle show but in the corvette assembly book it references screws and shows the screw but why is there not the size of the screw on the page or where is the reference number to the size of the screw so that maybe you could go to the hardware store and buy them quickly? Am I missing something?

Corvette Central use to provide all that info in the description. Ex. Alt. Bracket Bolt 3/8 x 1 1/2. I Just use size for example. But they made changes and don't provide it anymore. Bummer! Now I google part number from manual and get the info! I'm not positive but I think the picture of bolts and screws in manual are the actual size. I will look at manual later to see what I find.

The assembly line used screws/fasteners from a large box marked with the part number...no need for size call-outs there, as workers knew what they needed for each position. Iirc, the Parts Manual does have dimension call-outs for fasteners....

Jack, you can peruse the '53-'82 and '84-2001 Part Manuals HERE. Ben(cthulhu) offered to host them on his webpage for me years ago, since my page wouldn't handle the large files. You should also be able to download them, but.....they are MASSIVE in file size. If you're not familiar with the GM parts numbering system(or even if you are), it can take a while to find what you're looking for, but....if it's on the car from the factory, it's THERE.
These are the original parts manuals on microfiche....some of the pages are a little screwy, but still readable. I use them quite often to verify part numbers and such.
Here's an example from the Parts Manual...

that parts manual was the best thing i've bought. 60.00 off ebay. It gives sizes of bolts etc and pictures are very detailed usually show every washer etc then take the number and look up sizes as in the picture posted. wouldn't be without the book.
