Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.

I use Corvette Central as a last resort for any parts, last week they reaffirmed why. Monday morning I ordered 2 light bulb sockets at $3.70 each, I was charged a total of $16.48 with s/h (they are the only vender I know that charges a seperate handling fee). Friday I hadn't received the  sockets yet so I called for tracking #, I was told they went out by mail on Wednesday. They charged me over $9 s/h and it took them almost 3 days to ship. When I received them there was an add for a new service they offer, same day shipping for an extra $3-$4 dollars. This is why I use Bairs.

Vette(s): 1973 Stingray Coupe and C5 and C6 Coupes.

So now some vendors are charging a fee to process orders in a timely manner. That makes me

Time to find other vendors.

I've had a few not so warm & fuzzy experiences w/C.C, also. There are more good vendors for me to deal with, so I go to the ones I know will do me right. Everyone has some problems, it's the nature of the bus., but some just go the extra step to make it right when they make a boo-boo. Live & learn, huh?

Vette(s): 1972 elkhart green T-Top, New paint, one previous owner, 370hp/350, hookers/flowMasters. Original PW,PS,PB,AC. All docs.
Same thing here, ordered 2 original engine stickers, told the phone op
"no rush", got them 3 days later and the shipping/handling fee was MORE
than the stickers! I'm off C.C. too. Anyone have problems with ZIP? I need
to get a Bair catalog...

I love the folks at Zip!!! I've had excellent service and parts with them, even the 'reconditioned' stuff. Never had a problem with the 'Zippers'!

I've never had a problem with ZIP either. When I was at Vette Fest I got a catalog from Chicago Corvette, they have a big catalog with a lot of stuff and are good to deal with also. Whenever I order I always try Bair's first (Brian is great to deal with). If they don't have what I need then I start looking at other catalogs. CC seems to have the attitude that they're so big that customer service doesn't matter. Unfortunately sometimes I have to give in when no one else has the part, but I'm going to start looking harder.

I guess maybe I'm the exception here. I've always had great service from C Central. Don't get me started on another supplier from Florida (that will go un-named) with their Chinese parts. If you want to see some really high S & H charges, try GM Parts Direct sometime. Of course their parts prices (and quality) do make it a lot less painful.
