Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Do our sponsors have catalogs? I haven't seen where they do, and I'm one who had to look, and look again, and ponder exactly what it might be that I need before purchasing. I'm just not that comfortable buying something for my Vette online without being able to look at it print first.

Anyone know? Any discount would be great, as long as I'm 100% sure the part I'm buying is going to fit on my Vette.

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
I know that Corvette America has a catalog. Got my first one directly from them via their website if I remember right (clicked on the Get a Catalog tab on their home page). Since then I've picked one up every so often at one of the Corvette parts places I go to that is an authorized dealer for them.

And I do believe the C3VR membership does get a discount, but you have to ask them for it. Applies only on telephone orders, not on-line ones from what I've heard.

Bairs does have a catalog. Their website is: www.bairs.com and their information phone number is 814-683-4223. This is the number to call to request a catalog. I have bought from them and they provide excellant service and shipping. I always look at their catalog first because they give C3VR members a discount. |wavey|

You can get Bair's printed catalog by going to their website and then click on the "Parts Catalog" button, then click the "Order" button at the bottom of that page.

And, YES, C3VR customers do get a discount, but you have to mention C3VR. I am told that the discount will differ depending on which item(s) you order.

Well it's worth a try to ask for one - the worst they can say is "Nope!". |hammer| Nothing ventured, nothing gained! |thumb|

Just following up:

I have ordered my FREE catalog from Corvette America. Thanks for all your help guys.

However, I had to send a mild nasty gram to Bair's. They want $3.00 for a catalog, so I had to express my disinclination to purchase their catalog, let alone their parts since all of the other major suppliers offer their printed catalogs for free.

Hope this doesn't cause problems with them Adam as I did tell them I was a C3VR member!

Update:
Received reply from Bair's regarding catalog cost. Catalog is free. Apparently they have posted the $3.00 charge to keep teenagers from ordering catalogs just to have them. Say they never actually charge the $3.00 when the catalog is sent.

Have also asked for a discount breakdown for C3VR members. If they provide me with something I will post to the group so we all know what to expect when looking for parts.

Anyway, I just think it's ridiculous to charge for a catalog, when no one else does. |smokin| |rollysmile|

Oops! inserted that update into the wrong spot!

Here's the reply from Bair's regarding discounts:

mark:

received your information for a catalog. we give 5% to 15% off depends on the part. you can check the online catalog for current prices or email us and we will get back to you on the part price.

thanks
bair's inc

Means we still have to contact them to find out what the discount is on each part we want to order, but some discount is better than none.
