I got it through SSautoSport.. my ole buddy Steve |winking| It actually came from MAD. I sent Steve the part # and he got it for me with his discount, and passed it along, so basically I saved shipping and taxes after all that, hey it was a few bucks..

Guy, if you have the MAD book check page 22 Item #602-248 ~ now be advised Bra's are not for everone |blinkyeyes|

This subject just was discussed on Motor Sports Weekly, this past saturday on TV. According to their expert Bras of any type are strictly a no-no. He mentioned several reasons, but I can only remember a couple. 1- The paint will fade under the bra at a different rate than the rest of the car. 2- It can cause serious clouding. 3- If any dust is on the body when it is put on or if any dust gets under it after it is on, the bra can act as a giant sanding machine. There were other reasons besides. If you think about it, that is probably why you do not see that many of them anymore.

I got the $80 MAD bra and sent it back after a week. The 73-74 style requires you to roll the headlight flaps down and stick them to the velcro there. What a pain if you drive at night. Also the velcro didn't line up right, and one side unrolled and flapped up covering the headlight! I removed it a couple of days after it got wet, and there was a lot of sand and stuff under there. |dead| I'd rather have a couple of chips than a sandpapered front end. Maybe the more expensive bras are made better, but not that one. Joe

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
My son bought a bra for his Saleen Mustang S-351 last summer, and as far as I know, his paint looks like the day he bought it. There are no marks on the paint at all. I guess they work. I personally don't care for them.. To each his own... That is one going machine. I'll probably get run off of this forum by talking about a mustang, but that thing flys. 495 HP, 6 speed. It don't stop spinning the wheels til 3rd gear. |thumb|
