Any tips or things i should look out for when replacing the rubber lines going to the front calipers and the steel ones going to the rear calipers?

You might want to use braided lines on both the front and back calipers.  They last a lot longer and are less prone to causing brake problems later on.   Don't forget to bleed all four calipers after replacing the lines.

I agree with Larry to use braided lines. I replaced mine with braided and you get a firm pedal feel. jbs82vette2008-03-27 03:43:34

Buy a good set of flare nut wrenches and use them.

Dante, this is the time to flush out the old brake fluid, and consider going to silicone brake fluid. As was mentioned, you want to use the flare  nut wrenches, and go to the stainless steel braided hoses. You might even have to apply heat to get some of the fittings apart. Be careful if you use a torch, because you might get a little bit of a pop. Use protective goggles to play it safe.........good luck and be prepared for a lot of cussing!!!

And don't forget to replace the little copper washers on the caliper side... they may come with the hose... also may want to replace the retainer ("horshoe" shaped) that holds the flexible line to the solid line on top of that little angle bracket... new ones are stainless. Definitely get good flare nut wrenches! 2 cruzn2008-03-26 13:37:20

Soak the fittings good with P.B.Blaster ,B-4 you try to brake them loose,go slow and easy Thumbs%20Up If you do decide to go with silicone brake fluid,Dont Forget, you have to totally flush out the system b-4 changing it over, silicone and regular Brake fluid don't mix,it turns to Jelly AngryRon 782008-03-26 14:31:31
