Dale,
I agree with your coment about sitting most of the time and not always in a nice garage. I really believe that not driving these cars is the worst dis-service you can do to them. The 30 year old parts and manufacturing technology used in them tends to make them dry rot and rust when not in use. Not to mention the 30 year old parts themselves.

I totally agree with you Imran. When I finally pull away from my house again, I know I'll be happy and won't care what it took to do it. Glenn, I tell my dad and sister to drive it for me on the weekends just for a little trip to keep it moving, but nobody ever does. I think they may be scared that if something happens, I'll be a wreck. But I'd take that chance, so I could know that it was getting a little run in at least once a week.

My mom will be driving the Vette at least once a week while I'm back in NJ for school, but she knows that anything she breaks she fixes, and she fixes it before I come home so that all I have to do is open the garage turn the key and blast off to heaven.

I had to rebuild my rear calipers today too, and I just kept on thinking about you while doing it, and praying that I had better luck. I also found out while trying to get all the dirt and rust off the car that one of my calipers was somewhat newer than the other. Don't know what the PO had to go through, but fortunately I didn't run into any huge problems. Should be back on the road soon!

Imran, Good luck on your rebuild. I think you'll be fine. I'd do it again in a heartbeat because there isn't anything to them. I think my front calipers would have worked if I tried them, but like I said... I had enough and really wanted to get it back on the road with no problems.
My rear calipers came in yesterday. I put them on in a few minutes and my friend came over to help me bleed my system. I followed the correct procedure, but my brake light still comes on when the pedal is pressed down all the way for a few seconds. The thing is its pretty much a bogus signal. My pedal has never been stiffer and I can stop on a dime which is unbelievable compared to before. When I was driving the brake light never came on (good thing, huh?)
Any ideas on why this is? Is there still perhaps an air bubble in the lines that when pressed down long enough reaches whatever triggers the light to come on? (It doesn't come on all the time either.) I also heard something about a piston in the proportiong valve that may not be fully displaced yet. Any ideas?
