Two of the screws and choke adjustment clamps in my choke were awol when i bought the car. Went down to a junkyard looking for a door, and found the same looking pieces on a Caprice Convertible(unimportant but interesting is that I found a place that wanted $15 ea. and the junkyard let me have them for nothing.) Anyway, got home and went to attach them, and found that the old screws are broken off inside the threaded part....I guess I really need ideas on how to get these pieces out without replacing the choke. Thanx!!!

Scot

PS-I found a new door, will be black, but fugit

Damnit Jim!! That's a great idea!! lol I could just buy both doors, lol....onl a grand for a Police Vette, people would pay for rides in that! Chris...is this legal? =) seems a bit illegal to me, but I could hang the stars out the windows with a little bit of string and have them removable |laugh| |laugh| |laugh| White Vette Black Doors, It must be a cop car =0

Still need to get the remains of the screws out of the choke tho!!! (not sure how bad it is to run with a badly adjusted choke...but enough is wrong with the car I'd rather not mess anything else up.

I'd try the screw remover set. I've heard a lot of people get the screws out with it. I however, have yet to get a screw out with the kit. |biggrin| But I think the two screws that I tried it on were really old and stuck in there good. I'll try it again when I need to and hopefully have better luck!!

You may have to drill the hole (drill bit will be smaller than the hole) and use an "east-out". If that doesn't work you may have to drill the hole (same size) and re-thread (tap) the hole. Good Luck!!!!

As far as I can tell the pieces in the kit are bigger than the screw I need to pull, so Fun awaits =) Still need a door though, so this is a low priority project.
