Vette(s): My Corvettes are a 1978 L-82 Coupe with an automatic transmission. It has a Silver Anniversary paint scheme with an Oyster interior. I also have a 2003 Electron Blue convertible, Milestone Edition with an LS-1 and a six speed transmission.
Can anyone help me figure out the build date for my car? The driver's side muffler says 3 78. Is there a place where the date is stated?

Did you find the trim tag? If so, then decoding that will give you the approximate build date....
approximate because the date on the tag is when the tag was stamped, and installed on the car. It could be several days after that date that the car is actually completed. But the trim tag date is a close date, so that's what we use to determine the car's Birthday.

An expected date of production is also listed on the build sheet and seems to coincide with the trim tag date code.
