Send me your fax number or an email address and I'll fax or email you a copy of all of the options and codes that are from my 68/69 NCRS Judging guide.  It will tell you all of the codes, options available.  Send it to mfranken@spt.com   Do you know if it is the original engine, etc.  Look  at the trim tag on the driver door for a code which states date it was built.  If it is a BB, then the date the engine was cast will be on the passenger side underneath the exhaust manifolds.  The code is upside down.  The build date of the engine will be on the pad in front of the passenger side head.  It will have a date code which starts with a "T" then in smaller numbers will be a partial vin number.  The engine cast number will be on the back of the block just above the transmission bell housing.

If you need anything else, let me know and I'll try and send it also.

Mark

There is a flurry of activity on this on the NCRS Tech Discussin Board!! Check it out! Go to the site from the link here, and just scroll down until you see "69 "Tank Sticker" Info" Adams' Apple38920.7143518519

Mark, thanks for offering to send the judging codes -that will help a lot!  I'll email you my email address but will also post here (dfgrant@bellsouth.net).  As far as I can tell The car has it's original engine.  The engine code is T0103LM followed by the same VIN on the windshield pillar.  I checked the trim tag and it looks like C19, but I will verify in the morning with better outdoor light.  Any info about what C19 means is appreciated.

Joel,  thanks for all your help in getting the folks at NCRS to weigh in on this.  The car does NOT have tilt-tel, but does have power steering and side exhaust.  This seems to match up with the build sheet if my theory is correct that the Confort&Conv. options are always listed in alpha/number order.  The third line down has a "G" which is still a puzzle since I have only found one "G" code so far (positract - G81) which appears higher up on the sheet. Then there is a line I can't make anything out on followed by a line where I can see an "N", and the next line has a "T" - which I am assuming is the louvers.  So since I don't have titl-tel then the line I can't read and the "N" line I can are side exhaust and PS.  Does this make since?

I really appreciate everyone's help with my obsession.  This has been a great introduction to the forum for me - Thanks!

C19 shows that the car was built on October 19, 1967.  This would be considered a very early 68.  Most of the cars built early were convertables as they had problems with the coupes and they came out later.  Your engine build date is October 3, 1967.  You should have a block casting number of 3935439.  You should have a rochester carb with number 7029215.

The build date of the engine is right where it should be.  Hopefully the engine casting number doesn't preceed it by more than a month or two.  The LM means it is a 427/390 HP engine.

Look on the transmission (passenger side) and you will see a date code and it should have the partial vin number also (if it is original).

So far, the data you've provided shows that this is an original engine.  Of course, you need to verify the engine casting dates, block number and the broach marks on the engine pad.

I'll e-mail you the info Monday.

Mark

Mark,

Now I am really confused.  My car (I thought) is a 1969.  So are you saying the the trim tag code is for a 1968?

Dwayne, I think Mark made a boo-boo!
Your build date is Oct. 19, of 68. I think there is just a little confusion on the year, maybe just a typo.
If you look at your VIN, it should start with :
19467...the next number will be the year, 8 for 68, 9 for 69.

Sorry,  I wanted to say 69, but had 68 on the brain.  Yes, everything is correct for a 69.  I had a tough time in typing class today.

Ok, I'm a new member, and build sheet info is one of the main things I want to learn about.

I've got a 74 and I have a mostly intact build sheet.  I am planning on getting it carefully scanned but just haven't found the time.

Does anyone have a clean copy of what a blank build sheet from 74 looked like?  I would love to see that to figure out what some of the codes on mine are.

Thanks!

Also, while I'm at it, how do I get a picture of my car to show on my posts?
