I have owned a 1979 Corvette since June 1996. I have searched around the internet and have tried to contact the National Corvette Museum, but have not had any luck in getting any original information about my car. I think I am the 3rd owner, but am trying to get all the information and documentation that I can to keep with the car. I know there is a chance that the build sheet may be on the top of the gas tank, but I am trying to avoid doing that as I am not the handiest of people. Thanks in advance for your assistance and advice.

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.
What about for chevrolet's previous to 1977. i read the form and it says after 1977, what about before?

The best bet is to call the number on the form, I called them and ordered mine over the phone. They Emailed me a copy and sent me another. You can get window stickers and invoices for 1981 and up from the corvette museum. when I talked to the contact at corvette museum they said the info from St Louis was destroyed, they have the records from Bolin Green. So for the years prior to 81 this compeny is the only sorse for info unless someone knows of another.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

This is the company I used to get reproduction window stickers for my '74. I am very happy with the results. You need to know what options your car has (or was original with). Unless you have a build sheet or good documentation, they will not list things like L88, etc.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Try these folks and see if they have your VIN. If they have your VIN, you can get a copy of the dealer invoice for your car.

The Allied-Vaughn folks were contracted by GM to microfiche dealer invoices.

I just ordered the restoration kit from GM and the invoice from Allied-Vaughn today and both places were very helpful. The best news is that GM still has my car listed!

As soon as I receive my copy of the invoice I'm going to order a window sticker. One thing, I do have the build sheet from off the gas tank (although it's not in great shape).
