The tank sticker on my 68 L-71 has a dealer # 519 and zone # 31. Can this info help me locate the selling dealer? GM is no help.

NCRS doesn't have a listing for those numbers either. Are you positive that those are the correct numbers? There is a dealer # 519 in zone # 16... Here is the link for the NCRS dealer locater search page:

Many thanks for the link! I'm positive the zone is 31, I scanned in my sticker because it was deteriorating. I've even printed a new one and laminated it to the tank while the body is off. The last state the car was registered in prior to me was Alabama. Not a title state at the time. I was pretty succesful searching on a factory black 73 a few years ago and I want to trace my L-71. Thanks again for your help!

I tried the link as well with no luck. It would seem that a directory of dealers would exist. Anybody have a suggestion? Like I said I have already tried the General, but once I tell them the car is a 68, I get no help. |frown|

I ordered a reproduction window sticker once from a company called Triple A Enterprises. I gave them the name and address of the dealer the car was purchased from and they had on record the dealer number and zone number. If you don't mind buying a reproduction window sticker (I think it was around $25 to $30), they might be able to help you, especially if you have the tank sticker. Their web site is www.window-sticker.com

It was a really nice reproduction and you can get it laminated to display at car shows. I was impressed.

Mark

Triple A used to have a dealer locater on its web page. I checked it before I checked the NCRS page. However, if you e-mailed them I think he would tell you the dealer info for free. http://www.window-sticker.com/ I too am satisfied with my reproduction windows sticker from them. Well worth the cost. |thumb|

I tried the link, also. My info.was not there. I know I have all the correct information so I added it in. If it's not there, I think it has never been entered in. I'm gonna go back now and see if my info comes up NOW. Mike

I checked out their site, it said if I have the dealer info, to send it in an e mail and they would give me the dealer name free! If they can come up with it, I'll gladly order the window sticker from them!
Many thanks! I'll post the info when I get it.
I'm excited now! |biggrin| |wavey|

I drew another blank! Triple A didn't have the info on file. I did get a very prompt response though. They referred me to Chev. Customer Relations, once they find out it's an older vette, they refuse to offer anything.
Thanks to all of you who took an interest!!!!!!!!!! |thumb|
