Hello to the board.
I was wondering if any of you have ever found a 2nd build sheet inside the dash of any of your C3's?

I replaced the tank on my '68 and all that was left was two strips of glue. The boot was pretty bad so i was not surprised. Any advice is much appreciated.
All the best.

I don't think there was a second specific place for a build sheets.  Some have found them in random places, I think it depends on the buider on the assembly line and where they decided to place them.  I read an article where a second build sheet was placed by the a-arm in the front suspension.  Good luck!

As Steve mentioned above build sheets have been known to be tucked away in several different spots on a car.  One of the joys of an older car.  Happy hunting...!!!

In other G.M. products ,Chevy and Oldsmobiles I have found them in different places, behind the rear seat under the rear seat,in the trunk, and inside the back of the front seat, seeins how C3s dont have a trunk or a back seat that kinda narrows it downLOL.some guys have found em under the carpet, and stuffed up under the dash, just keep lookin,ya never knowShockedTongue

Vette(s): 1981 Great White Shark. Red Interior, 350/190 hp. PS, PB (SS), A/C CC, T-Tops. Served three years in Active Duty Army, then Retired Air Force after 34 years! Badger State Vettes Car Club. 175,000 Original miles!! Now own a 1998 C-5!
Most of the pictures that I have seen, showing the 1981 going down the assembly line, show the build sheet on the front side of the gas tank.  Can't see it unless you drop the tank or take off the body!

This is my story, and I'm stickin to it!

Most common spots I am aware of are up in seat springs, under dash anywhere and under carpet.

They have been found behind the dash(speedo/tach), tucked up into the springs under the seats, behind the seatback covers, under the carpet, even folded neatly and placed between the strut rod bracket and the differential.
You never really know where you might find one on Corvettes. It depends on how the assy line worker(s) was feeling that day...

Out of high school I worked for Pullman Standard Car Works building NYC subway cars and Amtrack Superliners. We always had work orders to refer to that after a quick glance were just more trash to dispose of. You know where it all went....where ever we could tuck in behind someplace.
Most likely the same habits in most production lines.

Yep, I found one between the strut rod bracket and the differential.  It was folded up tight and covered with grease, oil and dirt.  I had to unfold it like the dead sea scrolls.  I can read some of it but I'm afraid to clean it up too much and lose the writing.  I also found about 3/4 of the sheet that was attached to the gas tank.  I'd like to say I found another one, but three aint happening and I have removed every part of this car.....Dead
