I went over to the old corvette assembly plant in St. Louis MO, this morning on the bike. Its completely gone, the old plant was demolished in 2002 and the the rest was leveled a few years ago to make a giant warehouse. I did take a couple of pictures of it though, but first let me say no one should attempt to take any pitures of large warehouse in st. louis with full riding gear on and a full face helmet or security will think you are a terrorist so after that slight misunderstanding they asked "ME" not to come back! Well here is the best pic I got.

THANKS KELLY FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LET THE REST OF US KNOW WHAT UP. I GOT TO SEE THE PICS THAT WERE POSTED FROM 1981 OF THE PLANT, AND THAT WAS A REAL TREAT. IT'S SOMEWHAT SAD IN A WAY KNOWING THAT A PART OF OUR CARS HISTORY HAS BEEN WIPED OFF THE MAP AND REPLACED WITH A WAREHOUSE

SO TELL US, WHAT WAS THE STORY YOU TOLD SECURITY YOU WERE TAKING THE PICS FOR? ..... "I KILL THEE WAREHOUSE !....LONG LIVE THE CORVETTE !.....
THANKS AGAIN BUD !

Yes its a shame GM couldn't think ahead and save the old plant but judging from the pictures I found from 1981 the place looked like it was ready to fall in now I know why my factory paint needs to be stripped off and the body redone as for as the story I gave I told them I come from northern Il. and was doing a freelance story on the corvette I don't think they bought it but when I asked them when was the last time you saw a redheaded terrorist? fron IL.
, they let me go. Here is another pic - I only got 3 of them.

What a shame. I am trying to put together a trip to the St Louis area in a few weeks. Given what you've got there, I may not make the effort to find the site.
Thanks
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
No it isn't worth the drive. Here is the 3rd and final pic I got.
