Anyone here ever install a TPI system into a C3 and retain/construct a working cowel induction setup? I'll be adding a TPI from an '87 to my '79 this winter, and I've got a few ideas, but if it's already been done that would be fantastic too.

Thanks.

Hi,

Wish I could add some input but I too am curious about that possibility. I have a TPIS mini ram on my 80 and it is very difficult to route a hose over the radiator due to the radiator support and allowing room to tilt the hood open. This is a project that I will be giving more time to this winter.

Good luck and please keep me updated if you come up with anything.

Ken

Look on corvettefaq.com in the engine conversion section. There is a guy with a 73 TPI without A/C that cut the core support and used a C5 air bridge. I can't tell whether he retained the full opening of the hood. There is another guy with a 71 LS1 conversion that did it (actually he did it first I think), but he says you can't fully open the hood. I think the only way to really make this work with A/C and a full opening hood is an 82 core support (or similar modification), and ducting. I have seen some C3 LT1 conversions that come off the throttle body and go towards the passenger side with the MAF and air filter. The ones I have seen didn't have A/C. I too would like colder air for my TPI. Let me know what you come up with.
