Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
OK - after a failed attempt at a member survey, here's the second attempt to get the member responses that I need:
Since several people have been thinking along the same lines for a C3VR member-featured wall calendar, featuring none other than youse guyses Vettes (that is not a slam on you NY'ers
yes it is
no it isn't
), I have decided to help Adam out by doing some leg work on this little deal.
I want to see how the rest of the membership feels about having an OFFICIAL C3VR Wall Calendar. If you could take the time to reply to this post, in number sequence, and let me know your individual thoughts on this project then it will allow Adam and me to make a more educated decision on whether this is a worthwhile endeavor.
Simple Yes/No answers are sufficient, but if you feel your creative side burning with desire to answer each question with an essay, please feel free. The more input the better!
1. Would you be willing to have your Vette featured in a C3VR wall calendar?
2. Would you agree to have vehicle basic specs (year, engine, HP, etc.), your name, hometown and state included as a bio?
3. Would you purchase this calendar for yourself, or others, whether or not your vehicle was featured?
4. What do you feel is a fair price for a calendar?
5. Would (4) featured vehicles per month be acceptable, or do you really want to see the picture from across the room so (1) vehicle per month is better?
6. Would it be practical to print up a series of say (4) calendars per year, each featuring different Vettes, in order to get as many member vehicles featured as possible per year?
7. Would you prefer to:
a) submit a picture you have already taken?
b) have a picture taken professionally?
c) take your own picture following some layout, background, time of day (for lighting), etc. guidelines or suggestions to eliminate professional photography fees?
8. Should C3VR and/or NCM event dates be included in the calendar?
9. Do you think these calendars would sell well at Corvette events, swap meets, etc., at a slightly higher cost to offset some of the website's maintenance fees?
10. Would you be willing, individually, to attempt selling these calendars at local events in your area if possible?
Once I have a better understanding of the demographics I will contact various printers to discuss quantities and pricing. Should this prove to be financially unsound I will also investigate the possibility of PC-based publishing in order to make our dreams reality.
I will give this questionnaire a month's worth of activity on the site, with the option of extending or shortening it, in order to get an accurate representation of member opinions. As always I will visit the site at least daily (except for weekends) and make every effort to keep the rest of you informed as to the progress.
Please take a few moments to respond, and if necessary I will target more specific areas at a later date.
Thank you Vette brethren.
PLEASE NOTE: In the interst of nanoseconds, megahertz, megabytes, DRAM, CD-ROM and all that other techno stuff, please remove your vehicle photo signatures from your reply postings to keep response time to a minimum!
Keep the wheels spinning,
Mark Romanowski
(I must have a big SUCKER on my forehead for volunteering for this, right?!

1. Would you be willing to have your Vette featured in a C3VR wall calendar? - YES
2. Would you agree to have vehicle basic specs (year, engine, HP, etc.), your name, hometown and state included as a bio? - YES - but basic specs on car and owner name only
3. Would you purchase this calendar for yourself, or others, whether or not your vehicle was featured? - YES
4. What do you feel is a fair price for a calendar? - DEPENDING ON SIZE AND QUALITY...$15-$25
5. Would (4) featured vehicles per month be acceptable, or do you really want to see the picture from across the room so (1) vehicle per month is better? - 1 per month with vanity plate (if applicable) subset somewhere
6. Would it be practical to print up a series of say (4) calendars per year, each featuring different Vettes, in order to get as many member vehicles featured as possible per year? - IF IT CAN BE DONE ECONOMICALLY. SMALLER LOTS USUALLY COST MORE TO PRODUCE. USING THE TOP VOTE GETTERS FROM THE ONLINE SHOWS MIGHT BE ONE WAY TO PICK WHICH CARS TO FEATURE IN THE CALENDAR. REPEAT WINNERS MAY NEED TO BE CYCLED OUT TO ALLOW OTHERS IN.
7. Would you prefer to: - A or C
a) submit a picture you have already taken?
b) have a picture taken professionally?
c) take your own picture following some layout, background, time of day (for lighting), etc. guidelines or suggestions to eliminate professional photography fees?
8. Should C3VR and/or NCM event dates be included in the calendar? - BOTH IF POSSIBLE - NCM dates are most likely more solid out into the future than C3VR events though
9. Do you think these calendars would sell well at Corvette events, swap meets, etc., at a slightly higher cost to offset some of the website's maintenance fees? - I WOULD THINK SO.
10. Would you be willing, individually, to attempt selling these calendars at local events in your area if possible? - YES
(I must have a big SUCKER on my forehead for volunteering for this, right?!

I dont know how to remove my picture, so I will just say that I would buy a calendar when available if the price was under $20.

I would buy the calendar with whatever format is chosen.
My digital camera is not exactly hi-quality but I would like to include my vette. Maybe someone with photoshop could clean it up...
