Vette(s): 1979 project. Have completed project on 2/2/03! Looks and drives GREAT!
I'm in.

My preferences from some of your questions :

Should be under $20

4 vettes per page wouldn't be too busy, but 1 vette would be nice. Possibly two calenders: 1 with the winner per month on each page and another with the four "honorable" mentions

I would buy one!!

1. Would you be willing to have your Vette featured in a C3VR wall calendar? Yes, but it's not in shape yet and won't be for quite a while.
2. Would you agree to have vehicle basic specs (year, engine, HP, etc.), your name, hometown and state included as a bio? yes

3. Would you purchase this calendar for yourself, or others, whether or not your vehicle was featured? absolutely!!
4. What do you feel is a fair price for a calendar? $20-$25
5. Would (4) featured vehicles per month be acceptable, or do you really want to see the picture from across the room so (1) vehicle per month is better? Four wouldbe fine.
6. Would it be practical to print up a series of say (4)calendars per year, each featuring different Vettes, in order to get as many member vehicles featured as possible per year? YES
7. Would you prefer to:
a) submit a picture you have already taken?
b) have a picture taken professionally?
c) take your own picture following some layout, background, time of day (for lighting), etc. guidelines or suggestions to eliminate professional photography fees?
8. Should C3VR and/or NCM event dates be included in the calendar? YES
9. Do you think these calendars would sell well at Corvette events, swap meets, etc., at a slightly higher cost to offset some of the website's maintenance fees? YES
10. Would you be willing, individually, to attempt selling these calendars at local events in your area if possible? YES

Good concept - the series would always have to have 14-16 months from the marketing release date as to allow for marketing a current calendar.

a) submit a picture you have already taken?

Option C - which should meet specified quality guidelines.

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
OKay guys and gals...the polls are closed! Thank you to all of the members who weren't too shy to respond and make their feelings known. Without you, and you know who you are, I couldn't have done this. I would have been shooting in the dark!

Hopefully the 35 respondents out of the 469 who viewed this little post are indicative of the general feelings of the group, and even more hopefully, those who only viewed the post and didn't respond will place their deposits when the time comes.

I have approached (3) printers with our calendar requirements and hope to have responses back within the next week or two. Soon we'll all be pulling our rides out of the mothballs (well, the northerners, East Coasters and Plains Staters will be anyway) and we'll be looking for photo submissions.

My guess is that either our prez or I will be posting another thread that will list some guidelines for the photo taking, and letting you know how the judging will be handled. If you're experienced with a camera, and have ever seen another car calendar, I'm pretty confident you'll know what we're looking for before we do.

The southern and western state members could start taking pictures tomorrow, but please don't send them in yet until we ask for them. As for everyone else who is currently buried along with the rest of us, rides tucked securely away for the winter, if any of you are brave enough to take some pictures in the snow it's probably a good bet the picture might make it into the calendar!

Again, thank you all for expressing your overwhelming agreement for this endeavor, and I will keep you all posted as to my progress in the coming months.

For now, save the wave until you can hit the open road again, and pray for Vette weather!
