Most days when I get to work I park next to a Red C5.I'll tell you what, when I'm walking up to my 82 and see it parked next to the C5 my Vette looks as small as a pinto compared to the C5.I never realized they were so big!!
Mine looks a whole lot better.

Makes for a low drag coeffecient. Both are nice cars in their own way. But give me a C3 any day.
I know they handle better but if all you do is drive on the street(me)It don't really matter, you can't utilize the cars full potenial anyway.I'll go for the looks.

The new ZO-6 is even fatter. They flared the fenders to accept the 12" x 19" rear wheels. Certainly a car I wouldn't mind owning someday (maybe after I win the Lottery). I still wouldn't give up my Shark though.
Speaking of looking small, bought my wife a brand new Mustang (V-6, didn't want her to beat the Vette). Her car is parked next to mine in the garage, makes mine look small, especially in height.

The C-5. Yes, bulky. I never liked them from the start.
But .......... You have to get into one to see what it is all about. I brought home a C-4 roadster last week, toolin' down I-95 at 80 per. Look in the mirror and this black hulk is staring at me. Black Z0-6.
Pulls along side of me, gives me a thumbs up, and stays there a minute. I look over at this car, and am amazed.
Now I am looking at the right side of it, and he has some kind of exhaust, and it sounds like a quiet Rolls Royce Merlin in a P-51 Mustang. But, looking at the side of this Z0-6, I am down lower then he is. It is bulky, especially at the side. But, it just exudes power, and speed.
I also had the chance to look at a 98 coupe that the previous owner of this car had. I was impressed. Maybe it is my age, etc., but that is a nice car, very nice.
I will get one, in a roadster in the near future. Now I still like the C-3, always will, I guess just like old girlfriend's that we think about sometime. Always there.
I pre-judged the C-5 when they came out in 1997, did not like them at all, but you have to go see, get in, and check out everything. Bowling Green did a nice job.

If I can get someone to give me a mortgage on my soul.. I would like to get one of the new -z06's.. even with the funky headlights.. maybe some third party vendor will make something to make them look better..
i think it would be cool to have an old 427 BB and a new 427 SB side by side..

Vette(s): 1969 Daytona Yellow Coupe - ZZ4/4 speed, Hurst shifter, Griffin aluminum radiator w/ Dual Spals, March Serpentine Pulley kit, Hookers with STS Racing Baffles, VB&P Suspension bits, 17" AR Hopsters, L-88 Hood
The C3 will always the first choice for me, and the C5 may be fat, but it is one awesome car to drive. I've driven a bunch of them, including a couple of Z06's. The base C5 is fast, but the Z06 takes it to a whole other level...that car flat out flies. It's amazing how they got the balance right between comfort and power in the same package. The new Z06 is going to be one killer car...hopefully someday I can park one next to my Shark in the garage.
