Vette(s): 1970 COUPE - LS5 454 - AUTO - A/C,PS,PB,TILT. WHITE WITH RED INT. PRISTINE - LIKE THE DAY IT WAS BORN. (Previously owned a White '76. Sold it in 2000.)
Do you know which state your car lived in for the majority of its life? My car was owned mostly in CA. The last owner gave me the name of the owner before him. Although I haven't been able to find him, I have contacted the Calif. Motor vehicle dept who sent me a form that will list the title history in CA for $5.00. I sent the form in a week ago and have not heard back yet. I'll let you know how I make out.

When you buy a car it is good to make a copy of the previous title before you register so you don't have to look for it. Most state DMV's will provide a copy of the title if you present the prior title and pay a fee. It takes some time to correspond but I found all the titles for my car and even the owners. I was lucky. Some states do not keep titles back as far as you need, especially the more populated states. Many of the states that do keep them on microfilm. Good luck!
