Vette(s): #'s matching hugger orange '77. flowmasters rebuilt eng & trans

Hi guys/gals,

I have to share this about my newly restored '77:  I went to a local car show tonight and there were some pretty sweet rides there 37' F##d hot rod,  mint condition 'CUDA,  GTO Judge, a super Bee....you get the Idea.  so I pull in and pop the hood jump out set the seat belts just so,and all that show stuff you do,and walk way over to the Cuda I turn around and some people are back over there hemmin & hawin' over the Vette (to be honest it was the only vette there) but any way I go back over maybe to answer some questions about the car. everyone

really liked it all the dressing under the hood and the interior.  one boy and his Dad were like that is the nicest Vette I"ve seen.  I was really taken back, this was my first show so I didnt really know wht to say except thanks alot, but it made me feel real good 'cause its come along way.

I didn't win anything because of the other way nicer cars there but that was good enough for me 'ya know?

Vette(s): 1972 elkhart green T-Top, New paint, one previous owner, 370hp/350, hookers/flowMasters. Original PW,PS,PB,AC. All docs.
Those are the shows to do, VNCRUISER turned me onto doing the 'Hot
Rod' car shows, lots of amazing muscle and rods and very cool people.
We are usually the only Vettes in the shows too (we both have '72's) and
we get lots of attention (and picture takers). I say keep doing the mixed
car shows, if you can find another C3 to join you, call it a club and you'll
always get to park in the club area. Bring some chairs, and sit back and
watch the fun as people stumble over themselves to check out the
(ultimate in cool) Corvette! If you ever get out West, you're always
welcome to join our club at a show! We have lots of Spring/summer all
day events (there should be a lot in your area too).

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
Way to go tunnel man, I can relate to everything to have said.  I have only taken my vette to one show, I always figure there will be others there that will make mine look like crap. (it is something I am working on mentally)  The one show I went to was 350 miles one way down the coast, slow drive and lots of go juice, which meant that I had a lot of people looking and commenting on my girl. the grin just got bigger and bigger, at this show there were about 85 vette, mostly C5 and C4 about 12-15 C3 only 3 twin chromers.  I recieved so many remarks about my vette that it started to sink in that she does look good, not perfect but good.  when it came time for the judging I was in shock when they picked my vette first in the C3 class.  I do not want to take away from your glory, you will get those trophies, most importantly you get the thrill of knowing you have something that makes other people talk.  how cool is that.  Congrads man.  keep going, keep showin'. Larry

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

Having people admire your car is a great feeling.   I have been there in the past with other cars.  Nothing that was a show winner.  I know I will turn some heads when I get some paint on mine and have it on the road.

Congrats!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the show!! They're usually a blast. I won 2nd place at the first show I took my '74 to after getting it painted.(My buddy won 1st with his '75). I had a hard time believing that many people could be interested in my car, what with all of the street rods, customs, etc. It took me back to the old days when we used to do the 'BIG' shows, back in the '70s-early '80s. Lots of work to get them spit-shined and the displays jest right. I prefer the local shows now. No pressure, just sit back and have a little fun. That's what it's all about!!! Congrats on your positive experience.

Sounds like it turned out to be a great day for you. The main thing is to have fun with your vette.

I Love the cruise nights and Hot Rod shows too. Its a mixed bag of cars at those, so A nice vette can really stand out. I still get bashful when people give me compliments about my car. Its a Great feeling. I love summer!

Know what you mean Tunnellback... we have been to one spectators choice show this summer, but the sweet lookin' 29 F##d won and probably deserved it, but I did get a bunch of compliments... matter of fact I had to drive home with the top down... couldn't get my head in with it up if you know what i mean... My favorite is the Friday and Saturday cruise-ins/fundraisers.... next weekend we go to the VA hospital for a show for the Vets.
