The weather in Georgia this time of year is always a hit and miss… But when there’s a hurricane about 100 miles away, it becomes real interesting. This Saturday was the monthly cruise-in in Newnan, a town about 30 minutes south of Atlanta.. On a good weekend there will be close to 100 automobiles, but this Saturday with over cast skies and the uncertainty of the weather, there were less than 50 cars on display. An hour into the show, hoods open and cars shined, the wind picks up! Skies turned grey and within 15 minutes, the flood gates opened! I’ve never seen so many custom cars scatter so quickly.

My car, the t-tops went on, my wife and I sat for a few minutes, started the car, headlights opened and came on, so far so good; turned on the windshield wipers, the door opened and wipers worked; all is well and I can make the hour drive home!

Without a doubt this was the wettest my car has ever been… non-stop pouring down rain! On the highway home I felt a little drip hitting the top of my left leg, I think from a vent, but all in all the car handled and ran flawlessly…

Got the car home, in the garage, dried it off, covered it up and I’m ready to go again!

SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am

Lucky all you encountered was rain.  Anything nastier and I'd a been looking for an overpass or a do-it-yourself car wash to hide in for awhile.

You're lucky to have made it with just a little wet stuff!
I towed my '74 down to Austin one year, to a large 'Vette show . We got to the motel, checked in, called the club that was putting on the show, and found out they were cancelling it because there was a Tornado on the ground not too far from us!! We were in the motel all of 5 minutes, and then we checked out (they didn't charge us!), and hauled a** out of there!! Caught a little rain on the way back, but we didn't get blown away!
