The sad part about those cars is that there are more like them out there. The one that got me was the guy with the one in his garage, and using it for a work bench
.

You guys are making me feel guilty. I got a '41 pickup sitting in the back corner of my garage. Had it since high school, started restoring it in the late '70's and then, well never mind. Moved it with us 3 times. My wife would sell it in a heart beat, me?, well it ain't hurting nothing sitting there. At least it's inside and not outdoors rotting into the ground. It's the ones outside or in really damp places that bother me. Hopefully, some of those cars will someday make great projects for a future hobbyist.
I know of a '76 in a barn taken over by mice. Also know of a '61 up in northern Maine under a pile of boxes and lumber in a garage. Guy wont sell------------yet.
Almost forgot, the pickup cab makes an excellent place to store my extra T tops.

I once checked on an orange C3 bumper car I saw sitting mostly under a cover in a driveway. Some friends told me it had been there "for years."

Turns out the owner is doing 25 To Life and his mother won't sell it.

I'm guilty too... got a '53 XK-120 in my back garage for 6 years now... about 75% complete.. even had it painted, but needs the most expensive parts to complete now... upholstery (leather) and the wood . It got put on the back burner when i got my Vette and house needing work... at least it is comfortable and taken care of... maybe some day I will get back to it...

Sorry folks. Now I'm depressed that I made ya'll depressed
. Some pretty interesting stories there though.

My wife's uncle had a '66 Mustang convertible and a Ford Model A in one of his barns for 25 years or so. You couldn't even see them for all of the junk and boxes piled around and on top of them. Every time I would ask him about them, he would simply say "Well I'm gonna restore 'em someday". When he got sick a couple of years ago, he sold both of them without even telling me. He passed away a few months after he sold them.
I forgot about my wife's uncle having a 1928 Model A Tudor that he and his Dad bought from the original owner back in the 1950s. I haven't seen that car run in nearly 30 years. It is tucked away in the back of his garage with stuff piled all around it also.
I've offered to help him get it running many times over the years but have never gotten a "yes, let's do that" response. He's in his mid-80s now and when he passes I don't know if his daughters will have any interest in the car (other than what it would sell for). I'm sure it would frost their cookies if he has willed it to me.
