Vette(s): Just finished 2 years of Blood, Sweat, & Tears restoring my 69 Coupe. Crimsom Red, 427, vacuum removed, Shot of Steeroids, Killer Lights, 5 Speed, still working on small things but she is back on the road.
I thought I would add to the trail of Emails. I placed an order with Dr. Rebuild last Saturday. I have to admit I was somewhat hesitdent after all the comments. However, I needed some special parts and it seemed this was the only place to get them. In any case I called on the 800 number and ordered the parts. A lady answered the phone and was very pleasent and helpful. Monday I received a call back on a part they didn't have any longer but offered a substitute. The parts were a little more expensive than what was on the web site but not much. I recieved my parts on Friday. Not sure if they have changed their ways but my first experience was great so maybe they have decided to appreciate the Customer instead badger them.

Vette(s): 69 Conv #'s match 427, TKO-600/.64, 3.36HD-Posi, HT, T/T, PS, PB, PW, SP, Leather, Comp XE264HR & Roller Rockers & Lifters, Air-Gap RPM intake, Holley St Av 770 VS, MSD 6AL+Dist+Blaster SS, K&N, Jet-Hot Hooker Side-Pipes, Steeroids, Al Rad, Spal Fans
ive had good experiences with dr rebuild
Another couple of places I like to shop is The Last Detail in Atlanta and Volunteer Vette in Knoxville Tn. Give them a call and get their catalog. TLD seems to have pretty good prices in my experience.
I would like to add my $.02 worth. Probably spent $12,000 in parts the last two years or so doing a complete mechanical resto on my 72.
Refurbish if possible any part that comes off the car....they fit ok the first time, replacements almost always do not. Repos always kinda disappoint you.
Catalog parts can run the course of plain junk to really good stuff. I have sent many pieces back because I guess I am just picky. ( not really, they just are crap ). Some of the catalog companies have excellent customer service, I stick with these vendors.
Dr. Rebuild has just about ANYTHING you can imagine, customer service is weird, I send stuff back or wrong stuff and it is exchanged ok. Just need to put up with grouchy people. Debbie is great.
Corvette Central has decent customer services and seems to be the lower priced vendor. Great source for me. Exchanged stuff fairly easily.
Paragon is good. They have bent over BACKWARDS for me several times......impressive.
Ecklers I stopped using. Everything arrives in busted boxes. UPS man laughed at the last shipment.
Mid America - well, everything in your car is ready to explode by the wording in their catalog. Customer service is ok.
Last but not least, never fall for the deal of ordering a lot of stuff to get the discount. What happens is that by the time you get around to using the parts, it could be several months or a year later and there is a problem with it ( almost always BTW ). The vendors usually are ok with this, but expect a rash of crap trying to return it or exchange it. I don't do it anymore, it is just not worth the discount considering the hassle in store for you. I'll pay the minimum freight charges on one or two items just so I can check out the parts just before I install them.
Enough venting.....wish me luck, my buddy is coming over THU evening and we plan to turn the key for the first time......I'm praying she goes down the road for the first time in two years.

I too have had many dealings with The Last Detail and I can't say enough good about them. Very professional, very friendly, and good prices.
When shopping for C3 parts I always start with them.
You can find The Last Detail online at http://www.tld-corvette.com/
