Hey Guys, I have a small problem for ya. How do you get nylon stains out of chrome? I had a nylon jacket fall down on my side pipes and burn, leaving a small 2" X 3" burn spot on the pipes. I got some of it off but there is still alot on there. Should I heat it up again and try and get it to the melting stage again, then try and get the rest off? Or do you guys have any suggestions?

If it's not painted, Chrome it!!!

Bummer
Hope it wasn't yer favorite jacket!
A good quality chrome polish should do it. I think if you get it hot, it's gonna burn in deeper.
If you have, or can get it, get a tube of a product named "Flitz". It's really good on chrome, stainless, 'lumimum, just about anything you can think of. Use a small amount on a paper towel, and rub it in. It will not scratch the chrome. It should come out OK.
If there's a "blob" of nylon stuck on the pipe, you may need to use a heat gun(hair dryer) to get the big stuff off.

Be careful with that heat gun. Chrome is susceptible to turning blue if you get it too hot and it will look out of place if it does turn that far down the side tube. There is a product available at the harley shops that I think its called remove blue or never blue or something like that. It might be the way to go.

On another note, dude that is a sh_ _ load of chrome you have under the hood of your c3. I only wish the photo was little cleaner to see all the detail

Yeah, I have a lot under there.I chromed everything. Even the headlite acutators. And they were tough as they wanted to float. Just the block and the heads aren't chrome. I'm thinking about selling it. I'll give the car away, but the chrome is going to cost ya.You'll have to use the car to carry the shiny stuff away.

I use a product called Weanol
I use to clean the rubber boot burns on the exhuast of the Harley.
Use a paint stick or a flatpiece of wood and a soft cloth so you won`t scratch the chrome finish
From After Shark's post -- it's called Blue Job. And no... I'm not kidding.
Here's the website. http://bluejob.shop-utopia.com/
Happy polishing!
