We ha JC Tayler Classic car insurance. $125.00 a year coverage for $15,000. Mileage under 10,000 per year, pleasure driving but our agent said keep it under 10,000 and where you drive it won't matter. After all pleasure driving is driving a Vette to work. Can't think of a greater pleasure except my bike to drive to work. |cheers| |saluteflag|

When looking for insurance for my car, I must have talked directly with at least six to eight of the companies that supply this type of insurance. Out of all of them, when I pinned them down by repeatedly asking the following question at least two different ways, the ONLY ONE that said "Yes, as long as it's only once a week or so," was Hagerty; what was my question?: Is it OK to EVER drive the car to work?

So my advice to you is if you ever intend to drive your car to work, or even out for an ice cream on a Sunday afternoon, you must specifically ask these type of questions to be 100% sure and safe.

I will say that a few of the other companies had lower premiums than what I'm paying Hagerty, but not lower enough for me have to sacrifice driving my car in anything other than a parade or to/from a show.

Try Condon And Skelly. They are a division of Met Life. They advertise on the back of several of the Corvette magazines. They have no attendence policy, and you can drive it to work ocassionally. I have $25k agreed value for $350/yr. They have a 2500 mi/yr mileage limit. My regular agent recommended them. They will insure modified cars.

J.C. Taylor on the 75 and 78 , agreed valve, unattended theft, 5 or 10,000 miles can,t remember. I received the same comment" keep it under the mileage and go where you want" $115.00/yr on the 75 but $325.00/yr on the 78 it was listed as modified. |cheers|

Try Parish Heacock, Lakeland, FL -- (800) 678-5173. They advertise in the Corvette mags. Their agent, Kim Overstreet, spent about 45 minutes with me on the phone explaining their coverage and how claims would work (so far, thankfully, haven't needed THAT info). Seems there's different versions of "agreed upon" coverage. Kim explained that some companies take your word for it when it comes to collecting the premium but will then only pay what THEY agree to if there's ever a claim. Parish Heacock tells you upfront what they'll cover you for, so if there's any needed to collect, at least you know what you'll get and won't have insult added to injury finding out that you won't get the full amount in additional to the emotional loss. Hope this helps. My $0.02 worth.

Go with AON.
I suffered many years with progressive for $850.
More coverage and less cost with AON.
Mine is insured for an agreed value of $i6,000.
Cost $100.
Silver69 has it right.
You don't need a second car, just don't use it to and from work or school. |thumb|

Vette(s): 1981, Black/Black, Engine bumped to about 400HP.Ext/int mostly stock.
I am trying to figure out if I can handle the 3000 milage limit for Hagerty's. If so, it looks like I will go with them. I like freedom. I hate to think that I would have to connsider my "nileage budget" every time I took the car out!

I also use Condon & Skelly. I pay $240/year for an agreed value of $27,500. Same terms as was mentioned above -- including towing. (markdtn -- you might ask them to requote your $350/year. That seems high to me.)
