Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone has classic car insurance by JC Taylor. Between my Vette, my Dad's '63 SS, and two other "jointly owned" classics to insure, we are finally looking toward classic car insurance.
JC Taylor is extremely reasonable (I'd even call it cheap) for what we need. HOWEVER, I don't want to find that the cheap price comes with cheap service. I think this is why we've waited so long to look for different insurance verses standard passenger car insurance.
I've never had a claim on my Vette nor any other of our cars so I have nothing to compare it with. Has anyone heard of and/or experienced their service? (If so, let me express my sympathy for your loss of your Vette
)

Thanks.

I have used JC Taylor since my cars became qualified as classic/antique as did my dad. Although we have had no claims to date (knock on wood), I can say that we have been very happy with their service and prices. Recently, I had my 'vette appraised after having significant work done and I still felt that the new premium was very reasonable - did not feel the need to shop at all. Currently I have 2 antiques insured with them. Hope this helps.
I use Hagerty....which allows some driving of your vehicle, some policies are strict about when and why you can use it. My classic motorcycle which is also on the policy, fell over denting the gas tank. There is one person left in the country who will still repair it like it was originally and is not cheap. The check was sent quickly.

You know, I was just discussing this topic with someone yesterday. Believe it or not, I use the same State Farm agent for my Vette as I do for my other vehicles, my house and life.
I asked them early on if they understood it was a classic car and they knew what that meant. They said they would be very good about matching up to what I paid for the car, as well as market values.
I hope I'm not making a mistake, and more importantly, if I am, that I never find out!
I've used State Farm since I started driving, and the few times I've had to file claims, they have been very helpful and very quick.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
Where ever you buy your insurance make sure it is an "Agreed Value" policy. Most policies are "Stated Value" which in short means you can say it's worth $15,000 but the book says $2,500 so that's what you get.....read the fine print.

I have Hagerty for the vette - good price and like others have said value is based upon agreed value. Very important with these older cars.
JC Taylor does offer the "Agreed Value" reimbursment. They also don't impose a mileage limit although they use 2500 per year for underwriting purposes (I wouldn't come close to that even if it was a restriction.)

Compared to what I pay now, it would only take me 2 months to pay off the entire YEAR of JC Taylor ins. Plus I like the idea of driving the car anytime thoughout the year. Currently we drop the liability coverage for winter (leaving fire/theft only for storage.)
I'd still like to hear if anyone actually had a claim with them, so keep those posts coming!

Thanks all.

I used American Collectors BEFORE my accident....
And I Still use them after my accident...
Service was great...
Absolutely no hassle with me or the Body shop
Adjuster did take 3 days to see the car (but American Collectors only use
"Car Guys" as adjusters not your normal adjuster... My Adjuster turned out to be a MOPAR freak ...BUT he knew what I was worried (aftermarket parts vs GM parts etc...cutting corners on this and that yada yada...Never had a problem (nor did the shop) about using the GM stuff...
BTW my rates did not go up a penny ... and they normally will not cover a Corvette less then 15 years old..BUT have insured my 98 since the day I purchased it..(same darn 2500 mile limit...)
Speaking of the 2500 milit...I was the Maryland Co-captain of the 99 National Corvette Caravan and drove my 72 ..They covered me for the extra millage I put on the car from that "special" trip for an additional fee of 20 bucks ..
Good rates
Great Service
They worked with me when I did the National Caravan
They Insured my New Corvette at rates much less then my regular Insurer
No Way am I going to use any other Company....
