As we all know sometimes our work shops can get so out of control and unorganized that before any work can be done you have to step back and reorganize. We've all been there right? or am I the only one? Well, I've reached that point, so I have to take some time to clean and get things in order if its even possible. A little history, I had a shed out back of the house that was 12 X 18. It was almost 20 yrs old so I decided to replace it. The wifey said no garage outback so I told her I was going to build another shed. Heres what I ended up building,
  Heres a side view,
  front view, Front side
The shed is 20 X 24 inside with a nice porch in the front.  Neighbor kept saying the whole time I was building it that it wouldnt be big enough. At the time I had no play car toys, only 6 old lawn  tractors. It was plenty big enough! Well here it is 8 years later and its not big enough. Or do I have to much junk? I sold 4 of the six tractors but they were replaced with 2 vettes. I keep one at my dads and the other one is torn apart in the shed. Well I have to make some room so this is where I am starting. I still have the engine from the 74 that I replaced and now I have the one out of the 72 to store so I bought 2 cheap motor stands on wheels. I went from this homemade crate to this new stands. I still have 2 tranny's to store, any ideas? And I am going to have a bunch of parts to sell when Im done just so I will have room!
Tomorrow I have to make more room as I plan on installing the maxjax lift in the next 2 nights. My goal is to complete the engine and trans install (along with engine bay redo) before the middle of July, then complete the interior before the beginning of August. Then if I can get the top installed before the Carlisle weekend! Wow, I think its a dream but I've set my goal so I might need you guys to be kicking me every night to get out there and get to work!

I think you're stretching the term "shed" a bit with that building. Very nice looking and great landscaping.
Best of luck with the projects.

No matter how big you build your building after a few years it's not going to be big enough.  My garage is 30 x 32 and when I built it 15 years ago I thought it was probably too big.... nope, it's full.  The bigger the building, the more treasures (junk) you will find to fill it up.

Hi Rod,    Nice SHED!  I am just finishing the electrical in my 20x30 2 holer.  I'm planing to add on a 10x20 room off the back of the garage.  I thought I'd be happy with just the corner for my radio shack.  NOPE!  The back of my chair runs just up to the front right fender of my baby and sitting next to the car just after driving it around is not very pleasant when the outside temps are hovering around 100*F.  Just the heat from the tires and the smell of rubber turns my stomach.  I like my radios and love my baby but, they don't mix that well.

Nice job and great landscaping around the shed. One question though.  What is all that green stuff on the ground?

SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
After "BIGBRRD" was purchased the need for expanding the covered parking spaces increased so the 24x30 addition was thought to be the answer (click here to see).  Then "The Beast" was purchased and instantly the thought of her daily driver having a cozy year-round space of its own vaporized (click here to see).  So now one of "The Toys" has to live off site in the winter months.  Joel is correct (as usual!), space disappears...!!!  Shocked

GOOD LUCK with the cleanup...!!!

Been a while since I last posted. Heres where I am. The lift has been installed and the car is in the air. The engine compartment in almost ready for painting and I am ready to spray the trans tunnel area with lizard skin to keep heat off the floor. BUT, I got distracted with the front end suspension. I have decided to rebuild the front suspension before the engine is installed. Tonight I removed the drivers side upper and lower a arms. Hopefully tomorrow night I can remove the other side. I will do a post in the suspension area with pics I hope.

Trying this again as the first time I posted I got my first ever Access Denied! Now I know what you guys talk about when it fails!
So I made some good progress today. Taped off the underside of car so I could spray it with the Lizard skin. Now the car is sprayed inside and outside of the floorboards. I also did the front firewall up to the top of the trans tunnel. I want to keep the heat out of the interior! It worked so well on the inside of the 74.
I also cleaned and painted all engine pulleys and brackets. Along with the Vacuum can and charcoal brackets and steering box. I hope to complete the engine compartment this week.
This might be hard to believe but I cant find the new rag joint for the steering. I have read so many people say they forgot where they put things and now Im one of them!
I also finished the control arm bushings but I'll update my thread for that. Good news is I'm moving forward!

Well, things have been slowly moving forward. I have the engine compartment just about ready to drop the motor in. The motor is also just about ready and I should be able to finish it one night this week. My body guy was over this past week and we put on the weather strips, and front bumper and grills. The windshield is now in and I installed the side windows on Sunday. Bad part is I wont be home until Wednesday to do any more but I am getting closer to the first drive. Cant wait!
