Latest update, I spent the last week and a half working in the shed trying to make some progress. Havent had many chances to post so I thought I would post tonight. Ive installed the Aluminum Radiator and dual electric fans but havent done any wiring yet. Fit was really nice but the one edge of the fan just touches the upper control arm washer. Not a real problem but I'll probably cut that washer down a little. Dropped the motor in Monday night and that went very well. Then Last night I installed the tranny. Now I have to clean up a bunch of little things like installing the distributor, intake, valve covers and close up cooling system. The tranny needs a lot of completion work as all I did was bolt it into place and install the cross member. Pulled the drive shaft off and ordered new u-joints. I am waiting for a new frt yoke as the one they sent me was for a turbo 350 and not the 2004r. I am going to have to cut about 3" from the top of the trans tube as its way to high and that means I will have to change the length of the dipstick. I installed new battery cables which was a fun job replacing! I will need to do a bunch of wiring for both the fan and trans and then there is the changing of the vacuum lines that go thru the firewall to the over ride switches. I also need to install the old exhaust for the startup and breakin then take off the manifolds and put the ceramic headers on. I am going to have a ne w2 1/2 inch exhaust made for it then. Then I have to tackle the wiper door parts and operation. But the good news is progress is moving forward. I have pics but since I cant get to our old pms I dont remember how to post them.

Glad to hear of the progress, Rod! Can't wait to see it! You can always cut a hole in the hood for the dipstick!!!!!

New Update:
Since my last post of progress was back on September 28 things have been moving very slowly for many different reasons. I needed some time alone tonight so I headed out to the shed and left the rest of the world behind me! I am so close to starting this thing up! I am hoping next week is the time! I still have to install an oil filter, then prime the oil pump, install the distributor, hook up cap wires, run a temporary hot wire for the electric fans so they run the entire breakin, add fuel, add trans fluid, crank the switch and off it should go! I plan on using a temporary oil gauge and temp gauge during the breakin. Just a double gauge unit sitting out under the hood for now. I dont have the console in place yet so I guess I will start it without the volt meter hooked up. I also have to put the old exhaust back on for this 25 minute run. Then it comes off so I can install the headers and a custom exhaust system. I think I'll wait to have the top done until the spring sometime. Who needs a top on a convertible anyhow!
Hopefully there will be no leaks, however everything is new including the fuel lines that I changed over to the braided line with A N fittings! Thats probably my biggest worry since I have no way to check that out unless I temporarily find an old 8 PSI electric fuel pump an hook that up to check for leaks. Oh yea, I also have a brand new holley that I have no idea if it will give me any problems. So many things to worry about!
Well once it gets fired up I will need to get moving on the interior which I am hoping EBO has completed his assembly of the how to install an interior CD by then. (No pressure there Ebo!)
I'll let you know if I stay on schedule or get sidetracked in my attempt to get this running next week.
