I have ALL 5 of my corvettes insured by American Collectors...including my 95 which is actually too new
for them to insure BUT they did.... Rates are cheap...total bill for all 5 is about 600 a year Total.
Plus about 6-7 years ago I actually had a claim and they were
extremely good to deal with... no hassle, etc... The only
was that it took them 2-3 days to find an adjuster that was
semi local ...no big deal since the adjuster was a "car guy"
(mopars believe it of not) BUT he understood my concerns and my
needs...
My rates did not increase...and they made an exception for
my 95 allowing me to add it to the policy, saving me
the entire cost of insuring the other 4

PS: My son runs a modified SS 396 68 Chevelle and he also
uses American Collectors...slightly higher rates because
it is NOT stock by any means...fuel cell, 2 carbs, roll cage
fiberglass hood...etc.

Vette(s): 75 coupe being restored. engine rebuilt & complete interior resto with interior color change. more when i get it together. i am not going original as over my head, too expensive and i'd rather drive than tinker. thats to frustrating for me.
this is gerry. some of you guys are sending me insurance prices (collectors) i already haVE THAT! I PAY $94.00 A YEAR CND for full coverage. car was appraised 2 yrs ago. since then total engine rebuild, and complete interior including color change. at this time i estimate that the car is worth about 15k and i figure it will go up to about 200 cdn when i have it re-appraised.more on this, cant drive it to work or the corner store, allowed 16,000 miles per year, if you take it on extended holidays you must inform them. there is no stipulation that the car must be kept in a garage like a lot of other members ins. states. i will ask the owner if a US member qualifies for this. i was sent by mistake another clients bill. he owned 6 vehicles all appraised between 25-40K and his ins. was around $1900CND. I'LL GET BACK THURS IF POSSIBLE

Joe........Is there any stipulation on when the car can be driven i.e work etc. Thansk

The car can't be driven to work. Like most classic insurance companies there are different mileage levels you can choose. I took the 3000 mile limit.Midwest offers reimbursement for towing and for overnight hotel stay if car breaks down more than 50 miles from where car is garaged. My rate for liability and comprehensive is $125 for the year.

Well,guys....After reading all these post, and needing insurance for my '71 that's finally about to come out of the body shop after 14 mo., I called just about every ins. co. The best deal I could find was with Metlife.
I have 25-50 liability ,25 property damage on the '82 chevy p/u and '92 Honda Civic. I have full coverage on the '71 Vette with NO restrictions. No required garage or limited milage, just regular insurance with an appraised value of $20,000. I also have uninsured/underinsured coverage. All three vehicles cost $438 for 6 mo. That's not bad in my book. I can drive my Vette anywhere, anytime and be totally covered for anything that might happen to it. Oh yeah, that's $100 deductible comp. and $500 deductible collision. Check it out! Ask for Louie. 1-888-466-8670, ext.2258. Tell 'em Dwain down in Texas sent you. Hope this helps someone. It sure saved me some money.... Dwain

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
