I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Collectors Insurance for your C3 instead of the conventional insurance (such as State Farm, etc.). From what I've looked into so far, the rates are much lower. But I'm wondering if these companies really come thru or if there are a lot of loop holes, more so than the regular ins. companies

Hi Pam,
There is another thread in this forum that has quite an active dialogue going. Check it out - collector car insurance

Try Metlife. Their regular insurance in my case was very little more than collectors insurance with NO restrictions. Check out the collector car insurance thread mentioned by Norsky

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
I currently have Hagerty's but I have also used American Collectors. Both seem to have a decent reputation from what I hear on this and other boards. No experience with either from a claim point of view. Knock on wood.
Less than $200 per year with a stated value of almost $30000. Of course, there are some restrictions but then again, I drive a collectable car so I don't mind the limits.

I would shop around as well. Ask a lot of questions as far as limitations, etc. Is the Vette your daily driver, or do you have another vehicle for primary use? This can make a ton of difference. I have State Farm, and I have a second vehicle as my daily driver. I have an agreed value on the Vette of $20,000, and I pay around $150 every six. This is at 24 years old, less than perfect driving MALE! Anyway, good luck whatever you decide.

As long as you use your car as a collector car and not as a daily driver, do not be afraid of the collector car insurance companies. They offer lower rates and better coverage than the convention companies.
I can personally recommend Hagerty or Parish-Heacock. They are both superb. And they are there for you when and if you need them.
Good luck.

I have American Collectors. Agreed value of $12,000. Paid $178.00 for the year. You must have a daily driver for everyone in the house other than the vette and must be garaged and driven less than 2500 mile per year.
