Hi, haven't posted before, but I am so glad to have found this group.
I inherited my mom's 78 vette and it has some issues that we need some help with.
My husband and I are able to do some basics, but this car needs some professional help :)
Not a lot to spend right now, but would like to know if there is anyone in the area that knows a good place to go, I would appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Sharon

Finding a honest tech to fix your car can be a real headache..you can't always go by what other people tell you how they fixed their car because they probably have worked on that type of car before and they know it...( as long as they actually fixed the car and didn't rip them off doing so)there are not many young techs out there that don't know anything about older cars..call around your area and ask if they have any older guys working there..probably have to find someone in the forties to fifty's age..find out if they worked on any of the GM cars or trucks that are about in your year..about 76 up..they should at least be able to get the HEI and carb setup right..and even trans if it is an auto, if you need it..the vacuum stuff is all trail and error so that would take a patient guy and most of those I spoke of earlier are not..I do not know anyone out there but I hope you find someone to help you right..we are here also to confirm anything they want to do..

Don't know about the locations, but we do have a member in Cuyahoga
Falls that is an ASE Certified tech. If the geography is too far apart,
he certainly may have someone he could refer you to, if no-one else
does.
Send Ken (kstyer) an e-mail....he should be able to help out with info, if nothing else. Plus..if ya'll are close, location-wise, I'm sure he could use a little extra $$$!(couldn't we all?)

Thanks for the info. Cuyahoga Falls is about 3 hours from Columbus.
My mom actually lives closer, and her husband, Ray is big on older cars (1929 Ford Woody is her new toy) and he does frame-off restorations, but he doesn't like the vette :( so it kinda got neglected, that's why I have it now.
Thanks again,
Sharon :)
