Any one out there been to a Corvette driving/race school? I am looking for one. One with lots of wheel time that will not cost me my life savings.

I attended Bragg Smith driving school in beautiful Pahrump Nevada in January, 2003. It was a blast and I learned a whole lot about handling, balance and how to run a track.

I made a web page about my experience. http://rogerdean.org/Corvette/BraggSmith/L1_Overview.htm

Bragg Smith has recently been bought out and is now the Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranch. http://www.springmountainmotorsports.com  I think it is still one of the only, if not the only, all Corvette driving schools.

I know the classes are somewhat expensive, but I recommend them to all Vette drivers (and other sport cars drivers, for those whom aren't fortunate to have a Vette  ).

I have always wanted to do this but the money has always been a detriment for myself. I guess the next best thing would be to try some local/homegrown autocrossing.

Thanks for the driving school information.  I may need to use it now that I am the owner of a 1994 convertible Corvette with an LT-1 engine.  Of course I still have the 1981, I could NOT get rid of that classic.
