By saying "anyone else" are you saying that you are in it?!

Yep, 1970 Coupe. The only thing I don't like is the fact I can't move the car the whole 4 days.

I had to send in pictures of the car. I had seen it in the magazine from the 2001 Corvette show. Here is some info on it:

Corvettes at Carlisle 2002
Corvette Evolution Display
Evolution Display Coordinator: Joseph V. Clemente

As we all know, with the introduction of the 2003 model year, the Corvette will celebrate its 50th birthday. General Motors has been very quiet about how they plan on celebrating this historic milestone in which a single nameplate will be in production for 50 years. Carlisle Production plans on celebrating it in grand style with a display depicting the evolution of Corvette.

The unique display will come with an added twist - it will not just feature one Corvette from every model year. In true Carlisle tradition, the display will include 101 cars demonstrating a truly comprehensive look at the development of an American icon.

So, you ask how did Carlisle Productions come up with that number? It's easiest to explain in terms of Corvette generations.

The C1 (1953-1962) display features a roadster / convertible from each of the first ten years.

The C2 (1963-1967) a coupe and a convertible for every year, display is no 20 cars.

C3 (1968-1982) coupes and convertibles from 1968 to 1975, coupe only from 1975 to 1982. The display now reaches 43 cars.

C4 (1984-1996), coupes only 1984-1985 and convertibles 1986-1996, display is now 67 cars.

C5 (1997-2003), 1997 coupe only, 1998-2003 coupes and convertibles, display is now 80 cars. Then we would also like to acknowledge the special interest cars in the display. The 1978 25th Anniversary, the 1978 Indianapolis pace car, 1982 Collector Edition, 1996 Grand Sport, 1998 Indianapolis pace car, 1999-2000 Fixed Roof Coupe, and 2001-2003 Z06. The display is now at 101 cars.

All cars in this history making display will be arranged in numerical order starting with 1953 and moving forward to 2003. It will be located at one of the most visible sections of the fun display show field to create one of the most perfect photo opportunities imaginable. Does this display sound to you like something that you would enjoy being involved in? If it does, we encourage you to fill out an application. Applications can be picked up all weekend at the 35th Anniversary Corvette Registry tent located in row 1G, spaces 124 and 125 or by logging onto our web site at www.carsatcarlisle.com.
