Wish I could, it's some beautiful country down there and the people are really nice! If you go, get some pictures for the ones left behind!

Be prepared to sit in traffic for most of the day...Censored
After being in that area for the '06 Gathering, I don't think I would ever go back, just due to the miserable traffic. At certain times of the year, so I'm told, it's not so bad, but...if there is an event of any kind, forget it.
Other than that, the scenery is nice, the folks are, for the most part friendly, and there's plenty of kewl stuff to see/do.

I have been to it a couple of times.  The spring show is bigger than the fall show.  At the fall show, there WILL be more traffic because a LOT of people visit that area in the fall.  If you are going, go early in the day and traffic will not be too bad.  Also, you would want to be ther early in the day because of parking.  The 'corvette only' lots fill up fast.  If you can't get into the main parking garage area, then you will be parking on grass (or worse yet...DIRT).  If you head south from I-40, stay in the right lane, because it is on your right (while heading south).

It is a nice show with numerous vendors, quite a nice car auction and car corral.  It is at a 'swanky' (anything better than a refigerator box is swanky to me, that is why I was excited to read that the host hotel for the gathering had soap hehehe) hotel complex.

Walk in peace,
David

Joel, I remember the gathering in '06 and other times I've been that area... Especially into Pigeon Forge/Gatlingburg. Brutal traffic...

Will take plenty of Pics... hopefully...

Rain threatened and happened most of the weekend, but we did get in on the cruise.
Not many C3's there, but got a couple shots of some nice ones and a project car. Plenty
of C5-6's
The '69 coupe , small block didn't sell... high bid 29K. Didn't see very much bidding/buying going on at all. Most reserves were too high for the crowd.
Good weekend after all tho! Not a lot of traffic for pigeon forge until Sunday when the sun came out...

Not bad.. but i have been spoiled with Carlisle ... Missed driving the '73 but we did have a nice drive down in the '07... and gas mileage was amazing (high 20's)...
Will still take the '73 for local driving/shows now that premium is over $4.00.
Wifey also spoiled with all the room for luggage and shopping...
