Vette(s): 1970 Corvette convertible, daytona yellow, black interior, possible LT1/ZR1 (needs documentation).
I have no documentation for my 1970 Corvette LT1. Are their people who specialize in research for these cars? I think there is a chance it was ZR1 optioned (motor and trans are not original) and would love to confirm it either way if possible. Thanks in advance for any info.

Vette(s): 1972 LT-1 convertible with factory air. 2017 Black Rose Grand Sport M7 convertible.
All that will tell him is if it was an LT-1.  There were some things like if it has a fan shroud or not.  Not sure about radio or heater.  The brakes might be different on a ZR-1 too.

Thanks for the responses. I'm familiar with the vin decoder but its true that it would not give me any info regarding options on my vehicle. My car has a metal shroud like those I've seen on documented ZR1s, and larger exhaust. The interior is also power "nothing" like a ZR1. ZR1's also deleted the radio and interestingly, when I pulled the dash to repair the tachometer, all the gauges appeared original by their sticker dates of manufacture but the AM (maybe FM too...would have to look) radio had clearly been purchased after the fact as it had the price written on it with a magic marker. Clearly it would be a coup if I could verify this is an original ZR1 optioned Vette. Thanks again for responding.

There was an article in Vette magazine last year about the C3 ZR1s and ZR2s. I'll look to see if I still have it. They also mentioned a guy that has owned quite a few of these ZR1s and would probably be your best source.

There is a ZR1 registry on the net, but I think it's more geared to the C4s and C6s - don't know for sure.

Interesting cars, have only seen a few - a couple at ProTeam and one of the ZR2s at Carlisle last year.

Good luck - hope you have one! Thumbs Up
