Hey guys, I have been an avid vette guy since I was a kid.

My question is on a vette I have owned for 18 years looking for a value to sell it. (sitting for the last 16 years)

1971 Corvette Lt1 Coupe have no docs

Jan 1971 build early car  F 14

Manual brakes/ps

numbers matching motor

Block 3970010

Date code L 19 0

Suffix V1222CGY

I installed a new exhaust years ago.

Paint is in great shape.

71000 miles

6500 rpm tach

Trim code 403

Paint code 973

Car is red

Needs a bunch of little things, I have owned several Lt1 over the years including the best 1972 Lt1 vert with ac in the country, this car is not that but would make a tremendous driver/show car with a little tlc thanks Steve

Welcome to the forum!

Guys aren't blowing you off.  It's summer and most of us would rather be drivin' than typin'!

As far as value, I'm a dolt.  I can say that the values on these cars have been jumping around fiercely for about a year.  In general they have been climbing.  Whenever I start my search for a car I forget about KBB and NADA.  Lately, they have been showing up on the high end of the cars If researched.  I check what has been selling/sold on ebay.  Not asking  price but sold price.  Tough to do with our cars because each one can be so specific, especially if it's a higher end one.

Good luck and now, leave me aloneWink I have to get in the car and DRIVE!!Thumbs Up

Dave C..........My mantra: I can not be bought!!      Long and short term leases available.

Yeah, I know, Shut up Dave.

Hello,

Did anyone ever get back to you? I have a 1970 LT1 convertible. All numbers match except alternator and starter. VIN and Trim Code Plate intact, but no build sheet (I plan to look for it under the dash as it's never been done). All original except one repaint 18 years ago (paint is about a 7 or 8 out of 10). Would like to know what it's worth (hopefully what I paid for it!).

Thanks,

Bruno

Steve, Bruno, this group is more specialized in helping you repair or trouble shoot your C3. All do respect but I do not really know of anyone that can give you a solid pricing on your cars. May be some members here that have sold or bought some thing similar for comparison.

Dave sort of hit it on the head it's a lot like real estate, see what something similar in the neighborhood has sold for recently. There are experts out there that will charge you for a value but bottom line it's what the buyer is willing to pay.

Regardless, thanks for keeping those classic's alive and welcome to the group!

I actually just found a free app for iPad called "Corvette DNA" that will give you value based on options and current condition. The price for my 74 seemed a bit high for the market, but not out of the question. Search the App Store for "Corvette"

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.

I checked the value on my 1980 in incomplete condition and I thought the value was a little high at 2.37 million.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.
