Can someone provide me the site name to check my VIN so I can determine what month my 69 was built. I know I have seen the site name here but I can't find it now.
Thanks,

If so the link can also be found on the Tools menu tab/page labeled VIN Decoder.
But it won't give you the build month. You would need to use a source like one of the restoration books that lists the ending VIN number for each production month. You can get closer by using the body build date stamped on the trim tag, which should be rivited to the driver's side front door jam. The body build date was usually a couple of days prior to being dropped onto the frame. The letter in the date code corresponds to production month so you need to know which month your year began production (it does vary a little from year to year). The first production month = A, the second = B, etc. Hope this helps some.
Some one in the past posted a link that gave some idea of the build date. Mine showed as 12/74. The build date on my car is gone, so it's a good guess.
Anyone remember the link?

Thanks for the information. Actually, I did it the old fashion way I got a book and looked up the VIN. It gave me the month when it was built. It was built in August of 69. It said in the information guide there was a strike in 69 so GM produced the 69s 4 months longer than normal due to the strike. Really had some good information in it about options and costs, etc.. Thanks again for everyone's help. Norsky, I looked at the plate on the diver door panel and it was right on to what the book said so your method is solid. I also found out about 8 colors ago it started out of St Louis as Cortez Silver. Well, its Red now and it is going to stay that way for a while for sure.
