NCRS tells you how to rebuild them to "stock" by their Book  but to cut one one up and modify "nicely" - NOT "Corvette Summer" can be a great thing - anybody can restore to stock - NCRS tells you exactly what to do but it takes Courage to cut one up or modify it and then drive it - Not Correctly Restored Stingray.

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Well..........the only thing that's modified on my '69 is the radio.  I guess I'm boring.LOLLOL  I yanked the original radio, put it in a box and installed a Kenwood radio/CD player.  Sounds a lot better.Tongue  The original radio works, but the sound quality sucked.Dead  I tried some engine modifing with a Edelbrock intake manifold and carb. It ran like crap so I put the manifold back on and had the carb rebuilt to put back on.  She ran better!  Then, I had the engine rebuilt stock.  350/350 horses is enough for me.  She's a good running car and I'm a happy camper!Wink  Now, the C5 I have is bone stock.Embarrassed

Vette(s): 1981 Great White Shark. Red Interior, 350/190 hp. PS, PB (SS), A/C CC, T-Tops. Served three years in Active Duty Army, then Retired Air Force after 34 years! Badger State Vettes Car Club. 175,000 Original miles!! Now own a 1998 C-5!
Everything in my 81 is the way it came out of St Louis with the exception of the radio.  I put in an AM/FM CD Player.  I'm keeping her stock as much as I can.  Dave did a good job with the design.

Vette(s): 1975 Stingray Coupe - Yellow/White Upgraded Engine 96 Yukon FI with 700R4
As my 75 has over 105k, I have elected to upgrade it over the last 4 years first with 700R4 which made fuel mileage better than 21 on the highway. I recently replaced the tire L48 with a 1996 Tahoe vortec which really omproved the drivability.  I did keep all the number matching parts TH400 and L48 engine.

Vette(s): 1971 LT1
This is a good question.  It quickly allows you to identify which side of the "line" you're on.  I've owned several 'Vettes and I classify myself as a non-purist as long as the car isn't very rare or valuable.  I am definitely into engine, drivelive, chassis and even tasteful body mods.  My '71 LT1 is not original, however the ability to take it back to original is important for me on this car.  Too often 'Vettes are stored in a garage and only driven when the next parade is in town.  And let's not get strated on trailer queens!  Big smile
