Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
This morning, my wife and I went for a little ride, and while we were going down the road, I asked her if she wanted to drive. She said maybe later. Now, you have to realize thet she has never driven this vette. I happened to think, maybe that was the wrong thing to say. She might want to drive it all the time, better keep my mouth shut. I don't think I will ask her that question again... |toungecool| |cheers| |cheers|

Vette(s): 1975 L-48, 4 speed, side pipes, currantly and continually under repair. Build Date: June 16, 1975
blk79, I let my wifre drive my vette, now she's hooked. we are currantly looking for her vette now. I always wanted to be a two vette family. She really knows how to handle a four speed.
I don't mind it when she drives I get to see a lot more folks admirering the vette as we go by.
It's just as cool being in the passenger seat.
I hope your wife will enjoy her first time driving your vette.
Remind her to wave at other vettes as they pass.
Save The Wave.

I let my wife drive mine anytime that she wants. Of course, I always manage to have somewhere to go that I just have to take the Vette. I think she is afraid of it. I have asked her a number of times and she just dont want to. Go figure. |wavey|

Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
My wife not only does not want to drive my Vette, she hates that I even own one!

I think she's must have a screw loose or something! |confusing|

Thanks for the compliment, TD. Like I said, the paint is not quite as good as it looks in the pictures. It does have a couple of minor flaws. The interior is almost perfect though. This coming winter, I am figuring on doing a little detailing under the hood. The engine needs painting bad. Its first 7 years was as a daily driver, so It does have some grime and dirt underneath. Not real bad though. I have cleaned a lot of it off.. Since I have owned it, It has been rained on one time. The day I bought it, and when I was driving it home, the skies opened up for a downpour. I only had to drive about 3 miles to get in the garage, so I washed it as soon as I got home. I would like to build a set of the ramps, one other vette owner built. It would be a lot easier to clean under it. I'm getting too old to crawl around on the floor that much. Sometimes I can't hardly get up. |laugh| |laugh|

By the way, my wife can drive it any time she wants. If it wasn't for her, I probably wouldn't have bought it. She talked me into buying it. She is a pretty good gal!!! Next week is our 30th anniversary. One of the reasons she don't want to drive it, is that she is afraid she might scratch it. |no-no| |no-no|

I try not to let others drive my ride. Too many things can happen. There are only 3 people that I'd ever let drive her, Steve, Robin my bestest friend and my x.

My wife once mentioned driving my 68 427 Conv. I told her it might not be a good idea because i love both her and the car and if something happened to car i might have to make a decision as to which i like more.

My wife just left in ours!! She loves to drive it and looks very sexy behind the wheel, but she if scared-to-death that something will happen to it and i'll blame her for it. I have told her that its just a car and we'll get another one if something happens. |cool|

My wife was given the oportunity to drive a 4 speed her brother owned many years ago. Putting a novice in a low 11 second car is not the right way to learn to drive a stick shift. Needless to say, my wife is terrified of my Vette's 4 speed...now I gotta ask myself, is that a good thing or a bad thing? She loves to go for a ride as long as I am a good boy and obey the speed limits but keeps refusing to let me buy her a nice "automatic" driver of her own.
